What to expect from rhinoplasty
Am i a good candidate for these rhinoplasty procedures?
You certainly can have your dorsum and radix reduced. You likely will need some tip work to keep it in balance with the new smaller and narrower bony skeleton. (Michael L. Schwartz, MD, West Palm Beach Facial Plastic Surgeon)
Rhinoplasty what to expect
Your concerns can certainly be addressed but an in-person or phone consultation is recommended.
It is important to ensure that you will be able to breathe through your nose following narrowing.
An evaluation of the inside and outside of your nose along with computer imaging can help determine realistic expectations.
Please consult with a board certified specialist who can assist you in achieving the results you seek. (Kimberly Lee, MD, Beverly Hills Facial Plastic Surgeon)
Radix reduction is important in your nose
If the hump is removed, the radix must be taken down as well, or you nose would look too long, like a Roman statue’s nose.
Also, raising the tip would help, as well as bringing the entire nose back, closer to your face.
See the link to see what these changes could do for your nose. (Steven M. Denenberg, MD, Omaha Facial Plastic Surgeon)
Am I a Good Candidate for Rhinoplasty ?
Many thanks for the question and the photos. There can not be a better candidate than you for any kind of Rhinoplasty. I do it by a closed method to avoid scar but even if an open approach is used by your PS there is nothing wrong with it.
I can only tell you that go ahead with a exclusive Rhinoplasty surgeon as compared to general plastic surgeon if you have very high expectations. (Ashok Govila, FRCS, MCh, MS, Dubai Plastic Surgeon)
Rhinoplasty for hump reduction
The dorsal hump on your nose can be reduced with an open or closed rhinoplasty technique. Many times, this decision is best made after a consultation to carefully examine your nose. Slight tip rotation may also help shorten the nose. (Sumit Bapna, MD, Columbus Facial Plastic Surgeon)
Am I a Good Candidate for These Rhinoplasty Procedures?
Dorsal hump reduction in conjunction with radix reduction can be performed with a closed rhinoplasty. You may want to consider tip elevation as well. The width of the nose will be smaller following osteotomies needed to close the open roof that will occur secondary to dorsal hump reduction. (Kenneth B. Hughes, MD, Los Angeles Plastic Surgeon)
Are you a good candidate for Rhinoplasty?
When an individual is unhappy with certain aspects of their nose and can be specific about what they would like changed then they are a good candidate for a rhinoplasty.
Of course, the surgeon must also appreciate what the patient is referring to (the issues must be visible or palpable and not purely in the patient’s head) and the patient should have realistic expectations. From your description and the two photos it appears you are an excellent candidate. Given the specific changes you’ve mentioned an endonasal (closed) approach would be a strong option, but this would depend upon your examination. (Andrew S. Frankel, MD, Beverly Hills Facial Plastic Surgeon)
Looking at your photos, it appears you are a good candidate for a rhinoplasty. An in-person exam and thorough evaluation would be necessary to give you precise advice. I would recommend a consult with a board certified and experienced rhinoplasty specialist. They will be able to look at your nose in person and provide you with advice. They also may use computer imaging software to morph a photo of you and give you an idea of how the final result of surgery may appear. (Paul S. Nassif, MD, Beverly Hills Facial Plastic Surgeon)
Patients with thin the skin are usually good candidates for rhinoplasty.
The picture nose demonstrates some aesthetic features that are fairly easily corrected by a rhinoplasty. The fact that the skin covering the cartilage and bone is thin generally bespeaks a good result. (Vincent N. Zubowicz, MD, Atlanta Plastic Surgeon)
