Types of rhinoplasty
Choice of rhinoplasty procedure depends on your goals
Being an aesthetic procedure, the goal of comsetic rhinoplasty is creating a look that you like. I find situations like these are best handled with an in-person imaging session with your operating surgeon.
He can start with your existing appearance, and draw what he thinks is reasonable, achievable, and appropriate. You can give guidance about what you like or don’t like about the changes, and he can use his judgment to decide whether he thinks the looks you are proposing are surgically attainable, and then fine tune the model.
The idea is to use imaging as a communication tool – so both you and the surgeon arrive at a general goal (not a specific outcome) that would be satisfactory to you both, and that the surgeon feels can actually be achieved given your specific tissues and his surgical skill. (Laxmeesh Mike Nayak, MD, Saint Louis Facial Plastic Surgeon)
It is a very personal decision. But based ONLY on your posted photos I recommend a full rhinoplasty. (Darryl J. Blinski, MD, )
Conservative rhinoplasty would improve your naturally beauty
It is difficult to make a detailed assesment with the photos provide. From the photos provided, I would recommend limited changes as you already have wonderful features. I would conservatively lower your hump, narrow your bridge and narrow your tip slightly. You may benefit from nostril base reduction. Seek consultation with a Board Certitified Facial Plastic Surgeon. (Gregory Pippin, MD, Metairie Facial Plastic Surgeon)
Rhinoplasty with radix augmentation
I think there are many ways to perform rhinoplasty based on the pictures you have provided. I think the other recommendations are fine ideas. I would also add that a true side shot of your profile to include your forehead, eyes, nose and chin would be helpful in determining whether or not to augment your radix (the top of your nasal bridge).
You may still need a small amount of dorsal hump rasping, but a radix graft will improve your overall profile when combined. Also, refining your tip and giving it a slight upward rotation will feminize the nose nicely. (Andre Panossian, MD, FACS, Seattle Facial Plastic Surgeon)
It is therefore impossible to give you an appropriate answer or make any reasonable recommendation. If proceed to have a rhinoplasty and go into it without specific goals like lowering a dorsal hump etc. there is a very high chance that you will be extremely unhappy with the results of surgery. I hope you realize that this format of posting questions and receiving answers lacks the face to face direct communication required for you to make an informed decision regarding your surgery. My response to your question/post does not represent formal medical advice or constitute a doctor patient relationship. You need to consult with i.e. personally see a board certified plastic surgeon in order to receive a formal evaluation and develop a doctor patient relationship. (Aaron Stone, MD, Los Angeles Plastic Surgeon)
Without examining you or seeing you in person, it is impossible to give you specific advice. If there are specific concerns that you have, they can be addressed during your consultation. Good Luck. (David Shafer, MD, Miami Plastic Surgeon)
What type of rhinoplasty
It is best to direct rhinoplasty to address the specific concerns you have with your nose. Your bridge could be made more smooth on profile and your tip refined, but you should really discuss this with your potential surgeon so a more specific, customized plan can be made. Preoperative digital morphing can also be done to help guide this discussion. (Thomas A. Lamperti, MD, Beverly Hills Facial Plastic Surgeon)
It is always key to figure out what bothers the patient. Certainly I see a dorsal hump that could be softened, and the tip refined. (Steven Wallach, MD, New York Plastic Surgeon)
Need for Rhinoplasty
You only ‘need’ a rhinoplasty if you don’t like the appearance of your nose, have reasonable expectations, and the desire and financial ability to make a change. The changes I would recommend include a minimal reduction of the hump and refinement of the tip to improve definition. Select a surgeon experienced in rhinoplasty surgery whose results you like. (Richard W. Fleming, MD, San Francisco Plastic Surgeon)
What Type of Rhinoplasty Procedure Would You Recommend for This Nose?
Thank you for your question. FIrst of all, rhinoplasty surgery is not a surgery that is “needed” rather it is a surgery that is elective since it is designed to improve the appearance of your nose. This means that you are the only one that decides whether or not you should have surgery.
I am afraid that it is very difficult to tell you precisely what could be done to your nose as your photos are not taken in the standardized matter that we surgeons use to evaluate the nasal esthetics. However, just looking at the photos that you have presented I think it would be very reasonable to slightly lower the dorsum or bump on your nose, improve the bulbous appearance of the tip, and slightly narrow the nose. The most important decision that you must make is to find a surgeon who listens carefully to you, explains things well and shows surgical results that you like. I have found that using a computer imaging to review the your photos has been most helpful to both the surgeon and the patient. Best of luck. (Donald M. Brown, MD, Manhattan Plastic Surgeon)
