Tip rhinoplasty techniques
An exam in person is always key. This allows for a proper evaluation of the soft tissue coverage and the issues that need to be corrected. It does look like you could benefit from refining your tip. (Steven Wallach, MD, Manhattan Plastic Surgeon)
Should I get tip rhinoplasty and alar base reduction?
Yes you are a great candidate for tip plasty and and alar base reduction.
I normally do a scar less alar base reduction from inside and so I do a closed tip plasty. I am sure you will find a right plastic surgeon for you. (Ashok Govila, FRCS, MCh, MS, Dubai Plastic Surgeon)
You Would Benefit From a Tip Rhinoplasty and Alar Base Reduction
It looks like you would be an excellent candidate for the above procedures and you appear to have very realistic expectations for the result.
You should make sure that you see a surgeon who is very experienced with rhinoplasty (Jonathan Pontell, MD, FACS, Philadelphia Facial Plastic Surgeon)
Tip rhinoplasty and alar base reduction
From the photos you submitted and without actually examining you, it does appear that you have normal skin and a bulbous tip. You should be able to achieve the results you are requesting by narrowing the tip and bringing the ala closer together. (Scott Trimas, MD, Jacksonville Facial Plastic Surgeon)
Good candidate for a tip rhinoplasty
Rhinoplasty computer imaging may be beneficial in helping you and your plastic surgeon understand your desired look. It will also help to set realistic expectations.
The skin of your nose does appear thick at the tip. You have not included a profile view so it is not possible to assess your degree of tip projection.
If you are under projected then a cartilage graft with refinement of the tip may be all that you need. Can not comment on the need for an alar base reduction without an exam or better photos. (Jeffrey Zwiren, MD, Atlanta Plastic Surgeon)
From what I can see without an examination you appear to have very realistic expectations and should be able to get the desired result (Frederic H. Corbin, MD, Brea Plastic Surgeon)
I think your observations are very astute. Pick your surgeon wisely with emphasis on a doctor with a lot of expertise and experience. I think your anatomy should result in a nice result with reduction of your moderate bulbous tip, lowering to the nasal dorsum, infracture of nasal bones, and +/- wedge excisions of the alar bases to narrow your vestibules or openings.Good Luck in your endeavor and keep things in balance with your expectations. (Phillip Nunnery, MD, Panama City Plastic Surgeon)
I think you would benefit from a tip rhinoplasty with alar base narrowing. When it comes to rhinoplasty I recommend that patient seek a surgeon with a 3D imaging system such as Vectra to help communicate what their desired outcome will be. (Christopher Khorsandi, MD, Las Vegas Plastic Surgeon)
