Rhinoplasty vs fillers

Surgical rhinoplasty for broken nose and a hump removal

The broken nose is treated surgically to reset the nasal bones straight. The dorsal hump is also composed of both bone and cartilage and must be shaved down in order to remove

A nonsurgical rhinoplasty is performed to temporarily augment certain areas of the nose which we do not recommend.

For many examples of surgical hump removal and straightening of the crooked nose, please see the link and video below (William Portuese, MD, Seattle Facial Plastic Surgeon)

You are clearly an excellent candidate for a rhinoplasty and I would go that route over fillers for a much better and permanent result.

Go on consults with experts in your area and via digital photography find out exactly how your nose might look after surgery(Frederic H. Corbin, MD, Brea Plastic Surgeon)

Fillers vs Surgery

Fillers can be used to successfully camouflage some small nasal bridge concerns but I believe that you would much happier with the results accomplished through a surgical rhinoplasty.

While I agree with my colleagues from Santa Rosa and Atlanta that Board Certification is important , I think that is not the major determinant for who you might choose.

Experience with Rhinoplasty is far more important than any other factor in my opinion. Look at on line pictures and find someone whose before and afters are consistent with your goals.

Surgery rhinoplasty vs fillers

I also believe that specialization in facial procedures especially Rhinoplasty should also be a very important factor in your decision making.

Finally I noticed that my colleagues only mentioned Board Certification in Plastic Surgery (ABPS) as a qualifier, but I would also point out that facial plastic surgeons who are certified by The American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ABFPRS) are likely far more experienced as a group with this particular procedure.

And while this in no way disqualifies my plastic Surgery colleagues, it does point out that board certification is only one aspect of the credentialing puzzle. (S. Randolph Waldman, MD, Lexington Facial Plastic Surgeon)

Surgical or nonsurgical rhinoplasty?

Rhinoplasty vs fillers before and after

The best evaluation is an in person consultation where the nose can be properly examined. Based on your photos, it appears that you may actually have more of a pseudohump due to a deep radix. Augmenting the radix while slightly taking down the bump will give you a straight profile. While the radix can be improved with filler, this is temporary and there are reported filler complications with injecting this region.

A more long lasting solution is a rhinoplasty. While I understand your concern about surgery, there are many successful rhinoplasties out there that you may not notice because they look so natural. I suggest finding a surgeon that specializes in rhinoplasties. Review the before & after photos to make sure that the surgeon gets natural results. Surgical Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty nose vs fillers injection

Non-surgical options in this case are very limited, temporary, and will likely not provide the aesthetic result you are looking for. I would recommend you visit with a board certified facial plastic surgeon to discuss you options and help answer the questions you may have. (Christian L. Stallworth, MD, San Antonio Facial Plastic Surgeon)

Which case would be better for me to either get the non-surgical or to get rhinoplasty?

You will not get the result you want with a non surgical procedure. Consult with Board Certified Plastic Surgeons who are highly experienced in Rhinoplasty surgery for your best result. (Robert E. Zaworski, MD, Atlanta Plastic Surgeon)

Surgical or non-surgical rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty vs fillers for hump removal

I think that what can be achieved with non-surgical methods is much more limited. Of course, a filler injection that eventually absorbs can sometimes give you an idea of what a straight nose might look like, but non-surgical means will not correct deviations and will not be able to lower the profile (just augment the upper part of the nose to make the bump less prominent).

Consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon to get the best answers. The case below shows a young woman who did not like her “bump.” (Francisco Canales, MD, Santa Rosa Plastic Surgeon)

Rhinoplasty or fillers?

Rhinoplasty is your best choice since fillers will not do what u want. You should have a great result if you choose a very experienced rhinoplasty surgeon. (Toby Mayer, MD, Beverly Hills Facial Plastic Surgeon)
