Rhinoplasty surgery cost
Rhinoplasty surgery cost is dependent on your geographic location and the skill and experience level of the surgeon.
Rhinoplasty is considered one of the most complex plastic surgical operations, so it is important to chose a surgeon based on qualifications and results, rather than price. (Lara Devgan, MD, MPH, New York Plastic Surgeon)
Cost of a Rhinoplasty surgery
Rhinoplasty surgery cost and range on depending on many different factors; but typically in my practice you can expect the cost to be between $5500-$7000. (Leonard Hochstein, MD, Miami Plastic Surgeon)
Rhinoplasty varies in every area, due to the general cost of overhead experienced by the surgeon, for one. For example, a downtown office in a large metropolitan area like NYC, charges a pretty penny for rent. The surgeon must cover his expenses with every procedure or spa treatment that is performed there.
Our Boca Raton plastic surgery office is located in a suburban area, and we have our own onsite accredited surgical suite, giving us two monetary advantages over high-rent practices. The biggest factor, however, in terms of the rhinoplasty surgery cost is the degree of correction required.
Like anything else, we fix what is presented to us. Someone with a large hump, drooping nasal tip and uneven nostrils will require more time in the OR than someone requiring a simpler correction. A rhinoplasty revision takes longer to perform, on average, than an initial rhinoplasty, because the rhinoplasty surgeon must deal not only with the areas needing correction, but in working around the scar tissue that formed after the first rhinoplasty.
However, price shouldn’t be your main consideration. QUALITY should be your goal. Your nose is smack dab in the middle of your face. Everybody sees it. A poor result means a revision later on, assuming you can afford it.
Get it right the first time by seeing a rhinoplasty specialist. I am board certified in Plastic Surgery AND in Otolaryngology/Head & Neck surgery. As such, I’ve done hundreds, if not thousands, of rhinoplasty procedures over my 23+ year career.
Insist on seeing as many before/after photos as possible, paying particular attention to those before photos that look the most like your nose. Ask to talk to 3 rhinoplasty patients from that practice, to get an idea about the surgeon, the procedure and the recovery.
Leave nothing to chance when considering a rhinoplasty. In Boca Raton, I’m known as a nose specialist due to my credentials, my vast experience and my satisfied patients. Don’t settle for anything less! (Jonathan Berman, MD, Boca Raton Plastic Surgeon)
There are many variables that go into the pricing for a rhinoplasty. Let me preface this answer by saying, “This is your face! Definitely the one place that you do not want to price-shop.”
With that being said, most rhinoplasty surgeons are reasonable, depending on the amount of work that needs to be done. There are three things to consider:
- Whether or not you’ve had nasal surgery before
- Whether there are functional breathing issues
- Do several areas of the nose need to be altered? (major hump, drooping tip, widened nasal bones, widened nasal base, size of the nostrils, chin implant necessary, etc.)
Find a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon who is experienced in nasal surgery. You ultimately need to feel comfortable with that individual and their previous results – and only then will the money you spend be worth every penny!
Hint: Look for a “simulation” of what can be done with your nose in order to be “on the same page” as your surgeon. Also, speak to some of their previous patients to get an accurate idea of what to expect. (John Layke, DO, Beverly Hills Plastic Surgeon)
You’ll find that rhinoplasty prices vary considerably. The major factors are the type and complexity of rhinoplasty (e.g. first time, vs revision) and the location and practice of the surgeon.
Total rhinoplasty surgery cost, including surgeon fees, anesthesia and facility fees usually start around $6,000 and can go up to $10-12,000 very commonly. Some surgeons charge as much as $30,000 or more.
I would recommend obtaining a formal consultation to obtain an individualized quote. Good luck! (Bryan Correa, MD, Houston Plastic Surgeon)
