Answer Snippet
What can be done on my nose to slim and shape it?
Rhinoplasty
Feb 4, 2022
You will need of course to see a facial plastic surgeon in person to analyse your nose and discuss the possible surgery. From your discription and the photo you submitted, it appears you would be a good candidte for rhinoplasty surgery and the aras of concern for your nasal appearance can be improved. Best wishes to you as you pursue your possible surgery.
I would like my nose to suit my face, and with a rounder face and small jaw. What do I need to do to m
Rhinoplasty
Jan 20, 2022
As you correctly suggest, its difficult to make an assessment for rhinoplasty without seeing your entire face. However, it appears you would benefit from narrowing and refining your nasal tip, removing your profile hump and straightening your profile, and both narrowing as well as straightening your nasal bones. I typically would approach these changes through what is termed open rhinoplasty which I feel would enhance precision of the changes. Best wishes to you as you explore your...
When the nose bone is shaved down during rhinoplasty, how do you get out the shavings?
Rhinoplasty, Bone Corrections
Mar 20, 2021
Depending on the size of the nasal profile to be corrected, several corrective procedures can be used. For larger bone corrections a chisel like instrument referred to as an osteotome may be used and then smoothed with a file like instrument called a rasp. There are automated rasps which may also be selected for use by your surgeon. For smaller profile humps, the rasp alone may be selected for use. Any shavings or bone particles are removed by suction and irrigation. You should discuss...
8 yrs later -should I get another lower bleph?
Lower Lid Blepharoplasty.
Feb 26, 2021
Your appearance in the photos is very good and as often is the case, it would be best for you to have an in person evaluation before making any final recommendations. From your description however, it sounds as though you may be a candidate for a lower lid pinch blepharoplasty. this can typically be done under local anesthesia as an outpatient. Best wishes to you as you pursue your treatment.
What can I fix to have a balanced face?
Rhinoplasty and Facial Balance
Jan 29, 2021
It appears from your photos that refining your nasal appearance through rhinoplasty would be helpful in attaining better balance and feminization of your face. Rhinoplasty can be accomplished for you as an outpatient surgery and will likely greatly enhance your facial appearance goals. Consult a facial plastic surgeon to discuss in detail the procedure and expected results. Best wishes to you as you pursue your treatment.
Is there a non surgical alternative or do I need blepharoplasty for hooded eyes?
Eyelid Surgery
Jan 29, 2021
From your photos, your brows are in good position but you do appear to have excess skin of the upper lid. This can be corrected through blepharoplasty surgery and can be accomplished with local anesthesia. Botox and fillers would not be helpful. Best wishes to you as you pursue your treatment.
Is my skin too thick for Rhinoplasty -- Could this be Rhinophyma?
Rhinoplasty with Thick Skin
Jan 29, 2021
You are still a candidate for rhinoplasty. Although thick skin does impact the amount of correction that can be obtained, you can still accomplish improvements to your nasal appearance through rhinoplasty. You should discuss your goals and be informed of appropriate expectations through discussion with your facial plastic surgeon.
Which nostril reduction technique entails the least visible scarring, as I only want my nostrils very
Nostril reduction
Jan 29, 2021
This is a relatively common issue and can be accomplished through a well placed incision that typically heals without noticeable scars. The specific incision is dependant on the amount of narrowing required as well as the amount of flaring of the nostril shape. Your surgeon can analyze your nose and discuss with you the best option. Best wishes to you as you pursue your procedure.
Could I benefit from nose tip surgery?
Rhinoplasty
Jan 12, 2021
Yes, it appears that you could benefit from rhinoplasty to improve the appearance of your nasal tip and coordinate the changes with your other nasal anatomy. You should meet in person for examination with a facial plastic surgeon and develop a specific surgical treatment plan. Best wishes to you as you pursue your treatment.
I have no clue what is wrong with my nose?
Rhinoplasty
Jan 12, 2021
In your photo it does appear that your nasal bones are crooked as well deviation of the nasal septum and cartilaginous component of your nose. This can be improved through septo rhinoplasty. You should meet with your facial plastic surgeon for an in person evaluation and discussion of a specific treatment plan for you. Best wishes to you as you pursue your treatment.
Do I have festoons? Would a skin pinch help me?
Eyelid Improvement
Jan 12, 2021
You do not appear to have the condition called festoon. However it does appear from your photos that you could benefit from lower lid blepharoplasty. Also you may see good improvement from injectables in the tear trough and cheek lid junction region. Discuss your options with an in person evaluation with a facial plastic surgeon. Best wishes to you as you pursue your treatment.
Rhinoplasty & chin lipo?
Multiple Plastic Surgery Procedures
Jan 12, 2021
It is certainly possible to have multiple facial plastic surgery procedures accomplished at the same setting by your surgeon. You need to discuss your goals in detail with a board certified Facial Plastic Surgeon and coordinate a treatment plan together.
How to fix this type of nostril asymmetry?
Rhinoplasty: Alar retraction
Jan 12, 2021
During the healing period following rhinoplasty there can be some changes in the margin or edge of your ala or nostril. This is particularly the case if cartilage was removed from the nasal anatomy. There are procedures to correct this but you should discuss it in detail with your surgeon in advance. Your asymmetry appears to be small in the photos so I urge you to be conservative with any additional changes. Best wishes to you as you pursue your evaluation.
Would you recommend a repeat lower bleph or other treatments for my under eye wrinkles?
Lower Lid Skin
Dec 28, 2020
You do indeed appear to have enough excess skin of the lower lids in the photograph to benefit from a secondary lower lid blepharoplasty. You should of course be evaluated by a facial plastic surgeon and discuss your options including surgery in detail. Best wishes to you as you pursue your treatment.
I noticed this bump on my nose, what could it be?
Rhinoplasty
Dec 28, 2020
It is difficult to determine the issue from the photograph but likely it is an asymmetry of the nasal tip cartilages called Lower Lateral cartilages. You should of course see a facial plastic surgeon for an in person evaluation. If it is as suggested an asymmetry of the nasal tip cartilages, it can be corrected through a rhinoplasty procedure. Best wishes to you as you pursue your treatment.
