At 3 weeks postop, this is completely normal. Most swelling resolves in approximately 6 weeks, typically 80% of swelling is gone at that point in time. The residual 20% of swelling may take months to go away. Final results from facelift surgery are typically 6 months postop, that includes scar refinement.

No, this will not heal on it's own, but it can be repaired. The repair would involve removing the skin lined tract of the original piercing and closing the new freshened edges with sutures. Not a difficult repair and it has the likelihood of turning out quite nicely. Good luck!

Sure! I would recommend closing up the original ear piercing first. This is done by using a very small round punch (looks like a cookie cutter) that removes the old piercing and the inner skin lining and then suturing the area with several small sutures in the front and back of the ear lobule. Once the closure has healed, you can have the ear re-pierced in a new location.

This is an antibiotic ointment that I use routinely after rhinoplasty surgery and have done so for years. I doubt you have done any harm but please contact your surgeon and verify his/her recommendations.
Aftercare for rhinoplasty? I'm 3 days post op and wasn't advised on anything.

You need to return to your surgeon and have him/her take a look. It could just be swelling, a bunched up graft, scar tissue or failure to correct the initial issue. Your surgeon will understand what was done and be able to best counsel you on the appropriate next course of action. Good luck!

I advise most of my patients to wait at least 6 weeks after surgery before they go on a trip. Although likely safe to travel at that time, your nose will still be swollen, especially the tip, If you are uncomfortable with that, I'd wait until after you got back. Hope you enjoy your cruise.

I do see a small change. You are only 2 weeks postop and that is extremely early in the healing process. The nose keeps refining and thinning for several years after the procedure as the skin contracts down to the nasal framework. Please be patient and give yourself more time to heal. Good luck!!!

You are still in the very early postop period after surgery. Nasal skin redness is not unusual and in some individuals it may take months to diminish. If the redness does not fade after 6 months, there are many lasers that can be used such as KTP, Nd-YAG or light based systems light called IPL or fotofacial. Hang in there and give things some more time. Good luck!
