Dr. Burns specializes in breast augmentation (with both implants and fat transfer), liposuction, tummy tucks and other surgical body contouring, and complete mommy makeovers. Recognized by D Magazine as one of the best plastic surgeons in the city, he believes that a person’s natural beauty should be enhanced, not altered.
He also has expertise in facial rejuvenation and body contouring, and is nationally known for his clinical research studies focusing on new laser technology. That makes him a perfect fit in his role of medical director for the EpiCentre Skin Care and Laser Center, which offers a broad range of innovative nonsurgical treatments.
A Texas native, Dr. Burns graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Research Honors Program at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston, where he remained to pursue a residency in plastic surgery. He then completed advanced training in microvascular surgery at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston and cosmetic surgery in Miami, Florida.
Dr. Burns went on to become the first plastic surgeon in the U.S. to complete a fellowship in laser surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.
Outside of his private practice, Dr. Burns is a clinical instructor of plastic surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center Department of Plastic Surgery and is involved with the Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship Program at the Dallas Plastic Surgery Institute.
Whenever possible, Dr. Burns uses his surgical expertise to give back. He serves on the Board of Directors and as a contributing surgeon for the Share-A-Smile Foundation, a non-profit that treats uninsured children with vascular anomalies. He is also active with LEAP Global Missions, an organization founded by his partner Dr. P. Craig Hobar, which strives to bring the finest reconstructive care to underserved countries around the world.
Dr. Burns is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS).
Dr. Hubbard takes a straightforward, down-to-earth approach with his patients that sets him apart from other plastic surgeons. “In addition to their results," he says, "I think this is one of things my patients appreciate about me the most.”
After obtaining his undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, he obtained his medical degree from Upstate Medical University in New York. Dr. Hubbard went on to complete a plastic surgery residency at the University of Missouri and a fellowship in aesthetic surgery from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.
He is board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and Dallas Plastic Surgery Institute.
In addition to his work as a plastic surgeon, he and his colleagues at the Dallas Plastic Surgery Institute offer a plastic surgery fellowship. As co-director of the fellowship program, he helps train young plastic surgeons in cutting-edge technologies and procedures.
Patients also come to his fully accredited, state-of-the-art facility in Dallas, the EpiCentre Skin Care and Laser Center, for nonsurgical cosmetic treatments ranging from dermal fillers, Botox, and Kybella to laser skin resurfacing, and microneedling.
Dr. Armijo’s ultimate goal is to help his patients find hope, self-confidence, and a sense of well-being during what may be a challenging time in their lives. At a young age, Dr. Armijo became acutely aware of how surgery not only heals a person’s body, but also improves their lives on an emotional level by helping them to feel like their best selves. Having family members who are breast cancer survivors has helped Dr. Armijo to understand at a visceral level just how powerful an impact reconstructive surgery can have on a patient’s life.
After earning his Bachelor’s degree in human nutrition from Arizona State University and his medical degree at the University of Arizona College of Medicine, Dr. Armijo decided to undergo training to become a reconstructive breast surgeon.
He completed a plastic and reconstructive surgery residency at Case Western Reserve University and University Hospitals in Ohio. He then completed an aesthetic surgery fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. There, he also served as an assistant instructor.
Dr. Armijo is board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, and is a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, the Dallas Medical Society, the Texas Medical Association, and the American Medical Association.
