Unless you live in an area that a service is not available or need to travel to be cared for by a friend / relative, medical tourism is an unnecessary risk.  Local surgeons have a reputation that you can research easier.  Operations need frequent follow up.  If you have a problem and traveled, you surgeon will not be available and you may be on your own.  I happily do surgery on out of town patients, but I do make sure they understand the downsides.

The best way to know what a particular implant might feel like is to have your surgeon show you all the options.  The major manufacturers gladly give non-sterile samples to surgeons for just this purpose.

Patients for elective surgery who have asthma should have good control and no recent emergency room visits.  If not, the patient should be seen by her doctor before proceeding.  She should bring her inhaler and take a dose pre and post op.  The patient should discuss her asthma with both the surgeon and anesthesia provider.

3-D imaging can be very helpful getting an idea what an augmentation would look like.  I use the VECTRA system and patients like it.  For patients with little droop to their breast, software images can be pretty close to reality.  For those with droop, not a good.  I would not use the technology to try to choose between two sizes because it’s just too hard to tell the difference.  Also, be assured, that the difference between two sizes in reality is usually not too great.  Take the advic…

Sometimes, you just have to sneeze.  Vigorous sneezing may be uncomfortable and cause some bleeding, but it would be unlikely to affect anything structural.  Claritin  or similar drugs may help.  A gentle controlled sneeze would be best.

Abdominal liposuction by itself is best in the setting of no pregnancies and good skin quality with little excess.  Liposuction on an abdomen that needs tightening just results in loose saggy skin that looks worse than when you started.  Tummy  tuck is the reliable way to go in a woman who has had a pregnancy.

Staging implant removal and mastopexy then re-augmentation is a good option if you want to maximize symmetry and minimize healing problems while decreasing the implant size.  Going larger in a relatively smaller breast is a better option for one stage.

A tuberous breast has a distinctive look.  Not only is there underdevelopment of the lower pole of the breast, there is also scar like constriction and commonly herniation of the areola and nipple (puffy look).  An augmentation approach that releases the scar bands and a more firm and or shaped implant may add to the result.

You want to have optimal healthy weight loss with good nutrition and exercise that you can maintain before having a surgery.  That will give the best result with the least number of problems.  If you have done these things and are still not at an ideal weight, it is reasonable to proceed with surgery in most patients.

Prior scars on the abdomen do not rule out an abdominoplasty.  In fact, a prior scar is not unusual at all.  The operative plan, however, may need to be altered to do it as safely as possible.  The main issue is blood supply.  Every patient is an individual and you could have many scenarios, so a Plastic Surgery consult is the only way to know for sure.

Breast implants by themselves are often sufficient to fill a small breast.  Lifting at the same time as filling with an implant decreases the room for an implant and adds cost, scar, and risk.  Sometimes you need a lift… most of the time you don’t.
