2 months post rhino, looks like I developed extra tissue that’s inside the corner of my left nost
Inside nose
May 18, 2018
Yes that is swelling from the inside part of the incision. Ask your surgeon if you can massage it with Vitamin E oil. That is what I have my patients do by 6 weeks post op. Will go away.
3 week post op after rhinoplasty and I have a huge bump on the bridge of my nose
bump
Mar 24, 2018
Hi
i do not see any pictures of you before surgery, but this is NOT a huge bump. It just looks like normal swelling of the periosteum (bone lining) after a rhinoplasty. This will settle–but takes months. Do you know if your surgeon used a temporalis facscia graft there? if so, that also will give this normal post op appearance. i think you profile otherwise looks really good.
Puffy hooded upper eyelids. Is there anything I can do to treat this without surgery? Like diet o
puufy eyes
Mar 24, 2018
Hi
It looks like you have extra skin and fat. I’m not sure diet or topicals will be enough for what you might want. You could try a diuretic (water pill/HCTZ) to see if it helps. Topicals won’t do enough. And cut back on salt intake. i always recommend my patients try to keep their sodium under 1,500 mg/day.
Ultimately, you will likely want an upper blepharoplasty–you’d look really good with that!
I just had a rhinoplasty 1 week ago, removed cast yesterday, but my nose looked bigger then my or
Swollen nose
Mar 23, 2018
Your nose is way too early to tell the outcome. The nasal tip in particular stays swollen a long time. Minimize your activity and salt intake— and be patient. It will take months to settle.
How can my nose be improved? I had surgery last year on May 22, 2017
post op nose
Mar 22, 2018
To me your nose issues are the nasal tip. I think it is too round and a bit wide. Your nostrils are small. i would not operate on them. however, if the medial aspect of your nasal tip is narrowed, your nostrils will look better. You have a small, pretty face and so your nose needs to match that. It needs more refinement and definition to me.
Uneven eyelids (5 weeks post). Is this due to residual swelling or will I need some sort of revis
eyelids
Mar 22, 2018
5 weeks is too early to tell any asymmetries. the eyelids are very delicate and just need time. I do think the overall results are very good and that that you will ultimately be very happy. Just give it time. I recommend my patients use Vitamin E oil on their incisions at 6 weeks. You might want to ask your surgeon if he is ok with that or something else to promote healing.
Alar base or rhinoplasy or both? Please suggest. Thanks. Price range and down time?
nose
Feb 2, 2018
Hi Luella,
Alar base narrowing alone is not what you need. Your nose is also wide in the middle area and your tip needs some definition. So you would benefit from narrowing the middle of your nose, the nostrils and tip refinement, with possible tip cartilage grafts, using your own septal cartilage. Those are called tip shield grafts. i did a case like yours yesterday. I used two small grafts and sewed them to the lower lateral cartilages(tip area), to create a more attractive and well…
I have breathing problems with my nose and would also like a cosmetic rhinoplasty. Is it possible
Breathing issue
Jun 6, 2015
Hi therei recommend my patients wait until 18 to do a rhinoplasty, as the maxilla/mandible /nasal bones haven’t fully developed.a septoplasty can be done at a young age.and yes you can do a rhinoplasty with a septoplasty- that is common. Make sure when you do them- that a facial plastic surgeon does it.
What’s wrong with my nose? Do I have a deviated septum?
uneven nostrils
May 24, 2015
Yes, you have a deviated septum. It is the lower or caudal end of your septum that needs correcting, by a septoplasty. The septum has shifted off your maxillary crest and need repositioning. It is not complicated. Once that is done your nostrils will be more even.
My nose has a spongy, bulbous tip. Can rhinoplasty correct this to achieve a more structured look
Bulbous nasal tip
May 24, 2015
To improve a bulbous nasal tip, you need to have lateral crural extension strut cartilage grafts to reinforce your floppy lower lateral cartilages. These are septal cartilage grafts. The tip cartilages also need sewing together at the dome to get better tip definition. And if your subcutaneous tissue can be thinned , that would also help.
Would it be possible to pull my nose down but also raise how far it sticks out?
Lowering nose
May 24, 2015
HiTo lower your nasal tip area, you will need a caudal septal extension grafts, plus tip shield grafts, likely more than one. These are taken from your septum or ear, as cartilage grafts. The same is true for your dorsum or top of your nose. Septal grafts can be used or cadaver grafts or Gore Tex grafts. I do not recommend plastic implants: tend to come out-extrude.your nostrils will also need narrowing.
How can I make my nose thinner?
Thinner nose
May 24, 2015
If you have never had rhinoplasty, that is important to note. Your skin is a little thick and oily, which will make it more difficult to get thinner. Your cartilages are softer which will need reinforcement by adding a strut graft. Your tip cartilages will need to be made smaller , but using a crural overlay to improve rigidity while narrowing your nasal tip. You will likely also need Weir nostril narrowing too.
What does a hematoma look like?
Hematoma after facelift
Apr 12, 2015
There are two types of hematoma: expanding and non-expanding. The former occur within hours of surgery and dangerous and need surgical intervention urgently- due to arterial bleeds. This is not what you have. The latter, are from slow venous bleeds and can occur within a few days. Sometimes they need draining with a needle- aspiration. You can tell because the area is fluctuant- feels like a balloon with fluid. If just bruised- no treatment is necessary- will get better. This is likely what…
Why do I need to sleep in a sitting position and what are the complications of sleeping in a norm
Sleeping
Apr 9, 2015
Hi there, yes, it is important to sleep up for a week to 10 days after any procedure of the face. It reduces the swelling sooner and bruising. For a rhinoplasty, if you lie flat, the blood will drain down the back of your throat….you don’t want that.
Suggestions on extreme sagging eyes and cheeks. Also, maybe a reference to a Texas doctor. (Photo
Sagging eyes
Apr 5, 2015
Your number one problem is your smoking- stop it now. No surgery will help you if you do not stop. After 6 months of stopping- then have surgery.you need a lower blepharoplasty and a cheek lift. The floor of your lower eyelids is your upper cheek. Your cheek soft tissue has descended too. So both should be done for optimal improvement.as always- I would need to see you in person to make a formal decision.
