How to fix crooked nose?
crooked nose
Feb 4, 2019
Quite frankly, the photo shows more of asymmetry of your face than any ‘crookedness’ of your nose. So I would base my answer on your description rather than the foto Frontal fotos that look like this suggest a depressed dorsum of the nose, usually secondary to trauma.- which may be part of your findings] External visible deviations can be based on the position of septum, the bones or both…A plastic surgeon experienced in rhinoplasty would suit you well … First go…
What is the treatment for my left eye that is smaller than the right eye?
unequal eyes
Feb 4, 2019
The photo demonstrates a difference in the positions of the upper eyelid. This is commonly referred to as ‘ptosis ‘ [the “p” is silent!]. There are several surgical approaches to this condition and it depends on an adequate visual exam and assessment of the movement of the lid. The surgical treatments are excellent and can be done from the underside of the lid or through the skin of the upper lid. It all heals fine whichever the approach —It can be done under local…
Are my breasts infected? I’m 2 weeks with a lot of bruising around my incisions but no pain or swe
possible breast infection
Jan 30, 2019
Here’s the situation—from what I see and what you have indicated, you need to be seen by someone preferably your doctor… If you can’t drive the hundreds of miles to your surgeon, ask your doctor to call and refer you to a colleague in your local area that he/she knows/trusts for an evaluation. If that doesn’t work, go to an emergency room of a hospital that has a plastic surgery training program (there are several in your general vicinity] and ask…
How can I tighten my lower lids?
eyelids
Jan 30, 2019
Without photos it is impossible to counsel you…. There are many approaches to improving lower eyelids from laser treatments to surgery…. A treatment plan will depend on the presenting findings/what would be the best approach/the risks versus potential benefits/the finances involved..
Good luck

eyelid surgery
Jan 30, 2019
Surgical healing is a process that takes time and patience… I understand your concern that what you see is our of synch with your pre-op expectations.. But there is no doubt that normal post op swelling is in part causing what you see. Webbing of the corners can be normal and will probably change as the scars mature and soften….and hopefully all the other issues will fall into place. You would do well to wait longer than 6 months as the healing process is…
Can my left implant still drop almost 3 mo.? Is it ok to get measured for a bra 3 months post op e
Breast drop
Jan 30, 2019
This is a hard call and needs a discussion with your plastic surgeon. The pocket sizes appear significantly different and may be a result of the original creation, differential healing or post operative issues which caused the pockets to heal assymetrically. My sense of it is at this juncture is that it will not drop/change much if at all but you must also know that at 3 months healing is not complete and may still improve. Have you…
What type of surgery do I need? Am I the right candidate for a rhinoplasty?
rhinoplasty
May 16, 2018
From the photos that you supplied, you could benefit from a rhinoplasty –reducing the hump and improving your profile. However, they do not allow a proper response considering your other questions- I cannot determine if the nose is crooked nor how bulky the tip is, nor do they permit any determination of breathing difficulties… the chin does not look like it needs any correction..you can always do it at a later time following a rhinoplasty if it is felt that facial proportion…
Steri-strips after rhinoplasty cast removal: would it be okay to remove them?

Rhinoplasty and TMJ: Scared of rhino because I have bad TMJ.
rhinoplasty
Jan 16, 2018
You present two issues that you might have to endure for lifetime –a TMJ problem which may or may not be resolved, and a nasal issue which you are unhappy with and can be resolved. I’m not sure that rhinoplasty and mouth breathing because of packing will aggravate your TMJ, but if it does, it will be temporary –some surgeons place tubes through the packing to keep some nasal air passage open— However, Not all rhinoplasty surgeries require packing …
My eyes are positioned differently on my face. Is it irritating for others?
asymmetry of eyes
Jan 16, 2018
Absolutely not irritating to anyone if they have their head in the right place!!!!! Differences in facial symmetry is the norm rather than the exception,
If your nose is crooked, you have breathing difficulties and want that improved, that is possible.. .However , you should come to the decision whether this is important to you or not.. A doctor can only tell you what can be done —you have to decide whether this is something you desire or has any relevance…
My eyelids have had this extra skin? For a couple of years now. I am 31.
extra eyelid skin
Jan 16, 2018
This is not an adequate fotos to counsel you.. Judging from the singular one you have sent, yes, you show a small amount of skin folding but more worrisome is the long lid line and deep set of the eyelid fold that can be seen. If this is really the case, removing the skin will accentuate the long upper lid from the lash line to the the sulcus, [the natural crease of the lid] and possibly accentuate a hollow look, often seen in older people. Not…
6 months after rhinoplasty nose injury? Worried about the permanent impact of this injury.
nose injury
Jan 16, 2018
Your nose is not necessarily ruined however it would be wise and advisable that you see you plastic surgeon to evaluate the situation — there is the possibility with your history that the nose is fractured and this could be ascertained by physical examination and/or xray of the nose. If it is broken, it may need to be repaired. There is approximately a 2 week window after trauma that a fracture[s] can be addressed. Be smart and get see your doctor to be sure…
What is best for rhinoplasty local anaesthesia with sedation (twilight sedation) or local anaesthe
rhinoplasty
Jan 14, 2018
I would suggest that you do local with mild sedation with an anesthesiologist. I have been doing rhinoplasties for 40 years in this way and it is the safest approach. Mild sedation, with monitoring of vital signs [blood pressure, pulse, respirations] with an anesthesiologist relieves anxiety, helps amnesia, reduces the need for excessive local anesthesia, helps with pain modulation, stabilizes the blood pressure and respirations, and helps the patient be…
How long does it take for ear cartilage graft sutures inside the nose to dissolve (alar rims)?
dissolving sutures
Jan 14, 2018
Hard to say –depends on the sutures used.. Some dissolve in 2-3 weeks while others take 2-3 months… Ask your surgeon the question to get the right answer.
Good luck

Could rhinoplasty be done under local anesthesia?
local anesthesia and rhinoplasty
Jan 14, 2018
Yes, absolutely ….I have been doing rhinoplasty with local anesthesia and twilight sedation for 40 years ….[.Haven’t done one under general anesthesia in 25 years] —avoids all the problems of coming out of general anesthesia … .works just fine in the right hands of both surgeon and anesthesiologist—it takes a little more time and patience on the part of the surgeon —
