Does anyone have personal experience with a Rhinoplasty doctor in Chicago or Michigan?
Rhinoplasty
Feb 14, 2017
Irishrose,
It appears that you have done some thorough research and discovered one of the basic truths of plastic surgery: namely, that there are so many variables to healing tissues, particularly in a three dimensional structure like the nose, that even the most talented and most experienced surgeon could never guarantee a perfect outcome. My advice is to find a surgeon who can show you real outcomes that he or she has produced, find one who’s personality is agreeable with yours,…
Callus on my nose after rhinoplasty?
In office procedure
Feb 13, 2017
An examination would be necessary to give you treatment options with confidence, but often these small dorsal irregularities can be smoothed out under local anesthesia in the office.
Why does my nose keep getting bigger instead of shrinking after rhinoplasty?
Pollybeak deformity
Feb 2, 2017
It is difficult diagnosis with certainty without examining the nose, but you appear to be developing supratip fullness. This has been callously named “pollybeak deformity,” and is well described postsurgical phenomenon usually secondary to excessive scar formation in the supratip. I would suggest you seek evaluation by your surgeon. At 2 months a simple treatment with steroid injection can stop and reverse the process.
Is $3,200 a reasonable price for ptosis repair?
ptosis repair
Jan 25, 2017
For a cash price that is reasonable. Ptosis surgery can also be covered by insurance. I would recommend having your visual fields tested by an Ophthamologist. If the fields are restricted by your ptotic eyelids, then most insurance companies will pick up the tab.
1 week after Neck Lift – does this look normal or does like something is wrong?
postop
Jan 12, 2017
It difficult to advise you based on this picture. It could be just swelling, or it could be a hematoma. You should call your physician’s office and be seen if you’re concerned about healing or complications.
I am concerned about one of my eyes looking significantly smaller than the other.
Proptosis
Dec 20, 2016
Your right eye is not likely larger but more forward set in your orbit. This can be congenital but also acquired by such processes as thyroid disease or sinus disease. I would seek an evaluation with a CT scan and thyroid labs before cosmetic improvements.
Aging the past year: huge difference in my eyes. Left eyelid appears to droop. Do I have ptosis? (pho
Ptosis
Dec 18, 2016
Yes, it does appear that you have ptosis of the left eyelid. Ptosis can have a variety of causes, some of which require medical management as well as surgery. I would recommend evaluation by a physician to determine the cause of your ptosis prior to the cosmetic correction of the problem.
Is this a droopy tip or a swelled tip? Side angle pics of both sides of my nose
postop irregularity
Dec 16, 2016
1 year postop is typically when all of the swelling from the rhinoplasty has resolved. Particularly, if you had a large hump removed it may take until now to fully reveal your outcome. It doesn’t appear that your tip is drooped but rather there is a small residual hump. I would seek the counsel of your surgeon and he can best evaluate your outcome and troubleshoot how to address your concerns.
I really want to get a rhinoplasty done. Am I a candidate?
Rhinoplasty
Dec 15, 2016
You are definitely a candidate for a rhinoplasty. Sometimes its a blessing if a surgeon passes on you. If the doctor you saw didn’t feel capable of improving your look then he saved you many hardships and revisions, not to mention money. I agree with the other comments in that you should seek out a surgeon who performs rhinoplasty frequently. Plastic surgeons come in all varieties and rarely is there a master of all procedures. Being good at facelifts or breast…
Why does rib graft to nose tip takes longer time to heal?
3rd rhinoplasty
Dec 13, 2016
Thanks for your question. The slow revelation of your result is due to multiple revisions and not the type of grafting material. Each time the skin envelope is raised more scar tissue is created and tissue fluid drainage is altered. With second or third revisions the final result takes more than 1 year. Patience will be required and hopefully your surgeon did your last rhinoplasty.
Rhinoplasty – is this possible?
Limitations of rhinoplasty
Sep 30, 2016
The simple answer to your question is that the result of rhinoplasty is limited by your anatomy. Rhinoplasty works with living tissue and is not as simple as carving clay or stone. From what I can see in your picture your nasal envelope is a lot thicker than either of the celebrities whose noses you admire. The nasal skin can be thinned to a certain extent but ultimately will prevent you from achieving the sharp and angulated appearance you desire. The nasal…
Why are my eyes too close and one eye slightly smaller than the other?
Facial asymmetries
Aug 22, 2016
Hi Phoebetai,First of all, from your photos you look like you are very young. The facial skeleton will continue to grow until you are 18-20 years old. Your eyes are slightly narrow but there are no obvious anomalies to your facial structure. Narrow eyes can often be an illusion brought on by the relation of the eyes to your nose and that is something that may be addressed when you are an adult. At the end of the day you should not let your friends pick on…
I want to get my eyes done and maybe a facelift? Should I see an oculoplastic or regular plastic surg
Individual surgeons differ in their expertise
Aug 20, 2015
The three main groups of surgeons who operate on the face are: facial plastic surgeons, general plastic surgeons, and oculoplastic surgeons. All three groups vary in their training and experience. Ultimately, your best decision-making will be based upon your rapport with the surgeon and your appreciation of their before and after pictures.A surgeon’s boarding does not necessarily make them an expert at any given surgery. Some Facial Plastic Surgeons do thousands of…
What changes do I need on my face?
Rhinoplasty
Aug 11, 2015
Making a change to your nose would give you a more refined look. To give you a better understanding of what is possible for you and what would work well on your face, an in-person evaluation would be necessary. From the pictures you provided you seem to have a low bridge and blunt nasal tip. There are several rhinoplasty techniques that would provide an improvement on your current nose. Adding filler to your lips is a lesser commitment, and costs less, but it is not…
Is excessive swelling 3 weeks after a lower bleph normal/permanent? This was reconstructive surgery t
Postoperative bleph
Aug 3, 2015
The swelling around your eyes is typical at 3 weeks after a blepharoplasty. I’m not sure why your surgeon is referring you to his colleagues at this stage in the healing process. You didn’t provide any preop pictures, but I imagine as the swelling subsides those areas will flatten and normalize. Patience is key.
