I’ve Been Told That Internal Swelling from a Septoplasty Could Last a Few Months.

In our office we perform septoplasty alone or as part of rhinoplasty procedures. Septoplasty can cause some discomfort. However, it responds very nicely to pain meds. Usually my patients do not complain about pain when undergoing septoplasty. Sometimes, We use a soft splint which speeds up recovery and promotes healing.
It is very interesting however that some patients are immediately very pleased with the improvement in the breathing even few hours after surgery.

It really takes 12 months to see the effects of rhinoplasty.There is usually a great deal of swelling that need to resolve. In addition the skin needs to shrink to the size of the newly created underlying framework.I tell my patients that to see the full effect in the tip of the nose, it takes at least 9-12 months.
