Latisse works during the growth cycle of the lashes to make them longer and darker. You should continue to see modest improvements after 16 weeks if you continue usage. However, once you discontinue Latisse, your lashes will not continue in this manner.

If you are looking only for at-home treatments, the first stop is the sun care aisle. Everyday apply sunscreen, even in winter! Next is find a good skin care line. Depending upon your skin type, I recommend a variety of lines including Obagi Nuderm and Obagi CRx, Epionce, SkinCeuticals and Retin A.

You really need to speak to a qualified skin care consultant/aesthetician or your physician for the best recommendation. But remember, topicals will offer limited results for wrinkles, etc.

What is the Best Topical Facial Filler?
No topical on the market will provide results you desire.

Topicals simply don't penetrate the skin deep enough to stimulate the collagen that would be necessary to "plump" the skin. You will need to look to other treatments for real results. Juvederm, Restylane and other Hyaluronic Acid (HA) fillers would be the least downtime and expense for you. Fat transfer is another option.

Thanks for your inquiry. Like other physicians, I was a bit skeptical of the fractional lasers like Fraxel. However the technology, which is fractional CO2 laser under a variety of tradenames, really does work. For fine lines, tightening pores, discolorations and stimulating collagen, fractional lasers have proven their worth with significantly less downtime that many of the predecessors.

Please note that, without seeing you in person, this treatment may not be the best recommendation...

You may wish to discuss the treatment settings with your physician. If you are doing 6 treatments per year, it is likely you could adjust the settings to get a bit more dramatic result. That said, and without seeing you in person, your physician may have good reason to keep you a lower setting with more frequent treatments. Just talk about it with him/her. Communication is the key to get the results you want. Good luck.

However, without seeing you in person, it is really difficult to tell. Depending upon the depth of the treatments, my patients wore makeup anywhere from days 4 or 5. If you are at home, I would recommend focusing on your healing and remembering to use the appropriate wound dressings for the best long-term results. Try to be patient.
Will Most Surgeons Draw on Your Body Before Liposuction?

Whenever I perform body liposuction, I mark my patients prior to anesthesia in order to create my surgical plan, answer any last minute questions and confirm the plan with the patient. I also take the "before" photographs at this time. All of this helps to clarify communication with the patient. 
Why Can't I Apply Latisse to Lower Lid or Eyebrows?

Latisse is indicated and FDA-approved for the eyelashes on the upper eyelids. However, many people have been using it "off-label" on the eyebrows with some results. Just note that once you stop using the product, the results will eventually stop as well.

Thanks for your inquiry. Because Latisse works on the lashes that are in the "growth" phase, discontinuing it will eventually reverse any results you see. Long term usage is needed for long term results.
Is Fraxel Laser Safe for People with Jaw Reconstruction?
Fractional laser treatments should be fine.

Your jaw reconstruction is much deeper than any of the fractional lasers (Matrix, Fraxel, etc.) will penetrate and therefore should be fine to get the treatment.

With age the lips do tend to loose the plumpness look of youth. The fillers we use today, Juvederm and Restylane for example, are great for giving a more youthful appearance to the lips without looking overdone. Just tell to your facial plastic surgeon your goals for the procedure.

Thanks for your question. Both Juvederm and Restylane are used in the lips with excellent results. The most important thing is the skill of the injector, so be sure you find an experiences facial plastic surgeon or plastic surgeon for your procedure.
