The breast surgery alone is complicated and 8 hours is a long time in the OR. Most surgery centers limit surgical time so you may have to have the surgery in a hospital and stay overnight. If you have the luxury of splitting the surgery and having 2 separate recoveries, that would be best but it can be one in one surgery if necessary.

Everyone heals differently. I would expect the patient would have improvement in arm movement by about two weeks. Heavier lifting related to the abdomen may need 4 weeks.

This process usually gets better with time but for whatever reason it is taking a long time in your case, probably due to your fair skin. I would be concerned with any agressive treatments which may compromise your tranplants. I would give this more time and see if it persists past 18 months and then revisit options with your surgeon or a dermatologist.

Keloids are unpredictable but extremely rare in hair transplant surgery, especially during an FUE procedure. There is no way to tell if one wound will keloid while another will not. The patch test would not guarantee that you wouldn't develop a keloid from the larger procedure. Your risk is certainly increased and you would have to decide if this risk were worth taking to achieve your personal goals from the procedure.

Your hair loss is rapidly progressing but you do have a large amount of donor. Our practice does Follicular Unit Extraction, or FUE, in order to minimize the donor site morbidity and the recovery without any scar in the back. This allows you to have multiple procedures over a lifetime if your hair loss continues to progress.
