Is femto smile eye lasik surgery really better than previous procedure?
Its not bad
Feb 19, 2019
SMILE technology is not bad. It can’t really be used on those with high astigmatism and it may take a few months to see full results. I perform CATz because CATz is the best form of Lasik available and provides next day results. I am the only surgeon regularly performing this surgery in Michigan and there may only be 1 or 2 in your state as well. This is because the laser is new, very expensive, and complicated to operate. If you can find a surgeon in your area performing…
What is the Latest Equipment on the LASIK Procedure?
CATz is the gold standard
Feb 19, 2019
The CATz laser is the gold standard of Lasik. The catz laser uses 7,000 plus points of light to map the cornea and create a customized atmospheric treatment zone. Traditional lasers and ReLex SMILE lasers cannot achieve this map as they only utilize a few hundred points of light to analyse the corneal surface. Look for a surgeon in your city who performs CATz. Call and ask, most surgeons do not perform CATz because it takes advanced training to operate the laser. I…
Clarity of Vision After Lasik. Does Vision Keep Improving Over Time?
Depends on the Laser used
Feb 19, 2019
I personally perform CATz Lasik as it is the most advanced form of Lasik available. If you are treated with a CATz laser your vision will reach 20/20 – 20/15 the next day. If you are treated with a standard Lasik laser or a SMILE laser, it may take a few months for the full results to manifest in your vision.
What Are Good Lasik Eye Surgery Alternatives?
Implantable Contact Lenses (ICL)
Feb 19, 2019
When people come into my detroit lasik practice looking for the best vision correction possible, I dont give them Lasik. I give them a Contact Lens Implant, more specifically a ClearLens Exchange. This surgery is truly the diamond standard of vision correction and if you are looking for something a but more powerful than Lasik I recommend looking for someone in your city who performs this procedure. It will also prevent you from developing cataracts in the future as you will have a…
Can You Get Better Than 20/20 Vision Using LASIK?
With a good laser, definitely!
Feb 17, 2019
20/20 vision is standard and patients are always extremely happy to test 20/20. You should not be upset with 20/20 vision, it is technically, perfect vision. With that in mind, a majority of my patients achieve 20/15 and sometimes better. This is because I operate a CATz laser. CATz is the most advanced type of Lasik eye surgery available and I highly recommend looking for someone in your state who performs CATz. I am the only surgeon regularly performing CATz in Michigan and there…
Too Old for Lasik?
Not the best idea bit definitly possible
Feb 17, 2019
You can technically have Lasik at any age although it is not the best option for quite a few reasons. Those over the age of 50 often require reading glasses after Lasik, and for this reason I often recommend MonoVision. In addition to Monovision, the real diamond standard for someone over the age of 50 is contact lens implants, preferably the ClearLens exchange. This will prevent you from needing cataract surgery down the road and will hit 2 birds with one stone when it comes to vision…
How Long Does Dry Eye Last After Lasik?
Common in the first 3 months.
Feb 17, 2019
Almost every single patient I see with dry eyes after Lasik, actually had dry eyes before the procedure. The nature of Lasik makes dry eyes more apparent during the healing period. It will typically subside within the 1 to 3 months after your surgery. For people who are naturally more prone to dry eyes, it may last a bit longer. I recommend trying Refresh Gel Drops. The gel drop are very long lasting and my patients really find them relieving.
