Answer Snippet
Can my eyebrows be fixed after Botox?
Forehead Botox
Apr 5, 2017
Based on your pictures, it appears that your Botox injections were placed mainly in the center portion of the brow.  This can lead to a lowering of your inner eyebrows and a resulting “evil look.”  Additional Botox in the outer aspects of the brow can help balance things out.  You can also wait until the Botox wears off, which usually takes approximately 3-4 months.Best of luck!
What is the recommended saline spray to use post-op?
Nasal Saline Spray
Mar 31, 2017
Most Over-The-Counter brands will suffice.  They will all contain some type of preservative, but these have been shown to cause no issues after surgery.  I recommend continuing your saline nasal spray for several weeks after surgery.  When in doubt, ask your surgeon.  They may want you to use it much, much longer.Best of luck!
Is it still safe and feasible to have plastic surgeries done if I am a carrier of staph?
Staph infection and cosmetic surgery
Mar 31, 2017
Staph is a relatively common skin bacteria.  However, recurring staph infections are nothing to gloss over.  The Mommy Makeover is what concerns me.  The blood supply to those surgical areas is not as robust as it is in the nose.  As such, the body has a harder time fighting off infection.  Your surgeon definitely needs to know about this issue.  He/She may want you to see an infectious disease specialist or, at a minimum, change your intra-op and post-op antibiotics to ones that covers staph.
Is neck-lift needed automatically when doing facelift?
Face and Neck Surgery
Mar 29, 2017
When one performs a facelift, it almost always involves some form of neck work.  Usually the muscles are tightened and/or excess skin is removed.  Based on your pictures, you don’t need much work on your neck.  However, I do agree with your cosmetic surgeon in that you will probably need neck work done in the future, and at that time a revision facelift will be necessary.Best of luck!
I was injected botox incorrectly when it will gradually wear off?
Botox Duration
Mar 27, 2017
Botox, on average, lasts approximately 3-4 months.  Unfortunately there is no way to speed up this process.Good luck!
Does Botox in calf for MS cause vertigo?
Botox and Vertigo
Mar 23, 2017
Your vertigo episode was not caused by your Botox injection.  Likely sources are your MS and/or recent concussion.  I would recommend seeing your neurologist if your vertigo symptoms continue.Good luck!
Nose operation on 02/21/17 – still very scabby and painful to touch.
Rhinoplasty wound
Mar 23, 2017
Your wound appears to be healing appropriately.  The main issue to worry about at this point is infection.  If your nose has increasing redness, pain, or discolored discharge then you might be developing a wound infection, and you would need to contact your surgeon immediately.Best of luck!
Can rhinoplasty fix a wide nose? When I smile it flattens out completely and my nose looks really bi
Wide nose
Mar 18, 2017
Excellent question!Yes, your nasal complaints can be addressed with a tip-refining rhinoplasty.  Trimming and suturing of the lower lateral cartilages, infracturing of the nasal bones, and a base reduction should give your the improvement that you desire.  Discuss your cosmetic complaints with several surgeons and go with the one you are most comfortable with.Best of luck!
How easy is it to see if the septum is deviated?
Septal deviation
Mar 18, 2017
Very mild septal deviations can be a subjective finding.  One surgeon may think the septum is deviated while another may disagree.  If you are having zero issues breathing though your nose, and cartilage grafts are not necessary during your rhinoplasty (cartilage grafts are usually obtained from the septum), then I would leave your septum alone.   This should be discussed with your rhinoplasty surgeon.Best of luck!
Kenalog 10 after rhinoplasty?
Kenalog injection side effects
Mar 18, 2017
A “dent” is possible after kenalog injection, but very rare and unlikely.  If one were to occur, it would likely happen after a few months.  I would discuss your concerns with your rhinoplasty surgeon.Best of luck!

Anesthesia, Rhinoplasty, and Ritalin
Mar 18, 2017
Personally, I have had no issues with patients on Ritalin and anesthesia.  This question, however, is best answered by an anesthesiologist.  I recommend voicing your concerns with your rhinoplasty surgeon.  Their office can likely arrange for you to meet the anesthesiologist prior to surgery.  Best of luck!

Revision Otoplasty
Mar 2, 2017
It is difficult to give you a detailed answer without a complete ear examination.  I would recommend contacting a board certified facial plastic surgeon in your area. Regarding the keloid.  These usually have to be surgically removed, followed by either pressure dressings, and/or steroid injections.  Your facial plastic surgeon should be able to take care of it.Good luck!
I can feel the stitches in my ear. Is this normal?
Otoplasty scar
Mar 2, 2017
Overall, the scar looks good.  I would not worry too much about it.  A scar revision would be a lot of hassle for very little change.I have not seen your pre-op pictures, but most otoplasties require sutures to be placed in order to hold the cartilage in a favorable position.  Cartilage has a natural “spring” to it and it will want to go back to its pre-op shape.  Sutures, and other surgical maneuvers, are used to combat this tendencyThe lobe can be difficult to position.  I would disc…
Botox for lower tear trough?
Botox for Tear Troughs
Mar 2, 2017
Unfortunately, Botox will not help reduce the appearance of your tear troughs.  Fillers (I use Restylane in the tear troughs) are the main treatment.   Also, the only treatment for an unwanted side effect of Botox is time.  In most patients, Botox will wear off in about 3 months.Best of luck!
Plastic Surgery on someone with rheumatic heart disease?
Plastic Surgery and Rheumatic Heart Disease
Feb 8, 2017
Excellent question. If your cardiologist gives you clearance, then you should be able to proceed with surgery.  I’m sure there will be specific intraoperative and postoperative antibiotic requirements that your surgeon will have to follow.  Best of luck!
