Dear Kaylasm,
It may be normal to have asymmetric pain and swelling after labiaplasty. However, it is probably advisable to take photos of these areas and send them to your surgeon just to make sure everything is OK. As you may be aware, this area is very vascular and sometimes unusual pain and swelling may be a sign of a hematoma which would need to be evacuated to prevent infection.

Unfortunately there are no good non surgical options for skin laxity in the upper or lower abdomen. There are new radiofrequency and ultrasound devices that claim they can tighten skin like Thermage and Vaser for example. However, I have never seen what I would consider impressive post treatment results. That is why I still feel the standard of care to get rid of skin laxity is surgical removal, ie. tummy tuck.

Thank you for your question. A monsplasty involves the combination of liposuction and the removal of extra skin, very similar to an Avelar tummy tuck. With that being said, there should not be extreme pain. In terms of swelling, it usually lasts anywhere from four to six months. However, if you have lymphatic massages starting within two weeks of your surgery the swelling should abate much sooner.
