Hello and thank you for your question.  You need to see a true rhinoplasty specialist and this is very different than a Plastic Surgeon who does all surgical procedures.  Do your homework and see people who specialize in nasal surgery.  Your results can be perfectly explained by examining your nose and reading through the previous operative report.  I do this for all my revision patients.  If the doctor cannot explain what happened and how he/she is going to fix it, seek help elsewhere.Good …
Revision as soon as 6 month after rhinoplasty?
No
Jan 28, 2017
You need to wait at least 1 year for the tissues to soften.  If you reoperate on the tip at 6 months it will not go well.  See an experienced rhinoplasty specialist and you will always get the same answer.  In some patients I wait even longer than a year.Good luck,Aaron Kosins, MD

Can my nose be fixed after multiple revisions?
Be patient
Jan 28, 2017
You need to give your nose at least 1 year to heal after your last surgery.  Visit several very experienced rhinoplasty specialists…this is different from a Plastic Surgeon.  The surgeon should specialize in nasal surgery.  The success of your surgery will completely depend on the skill of your surgeon.Good luck,Aaron Kosins, MD

Infection after rhinoplasty and early splint removal
See Your Surgeon
Jan 28, 2017
Hello and thank you for your question.  Make sure to see your surgeon because this is more likely an allergic reaction to the tape and cast, not an infection.  You may need topical steroids although it can be mistaken for infection.  See your surgeon right away.Good luck,Aaron Kosins, MD

Jan 28, 2017
Hello and sorry to hear about your experience.  You need a rhinoplasty specialist who can rebuild and strengthen your nose.  Since you live in the UK, I would recommend seeing Dr. Charles East.  He is a true nasal specialist and a fantastic surgeon.Good luck,Aaron Kosins, MD

Return to Surgeon
Jan 28, 2017
Always return to your surgeon after a rhinoplasty.  The first post-operative visit is the most important but I see my patients all the way out to 1 year and beyond.  Good luck,Aaron Kosins, MD

Why is my nose bigger now than before surgery?
Swelling
Jan 28, 2017
After your rhinoplasty and especially in the first 2 weeks you are SUPER SWOLLEN.  This is totally normal and you have to give it at least 4 weeks for this to go down although it will continue to refine for a whole year.  Be patient.Good luck,Aaron Kosins, MD

Are my expectations for rhinoplasty realistic?
You Sure Are
Jan 28, 2017
Great news: You are an excellent candidate.  Thick skin can be a real issue.  I recently published a paper called “Management of the Difficult Soft Tissue Envelope in Facial and Rhinoplasty Surgery.”  Google this to begin your research.  Make sure you go to an experience rhinoplasty surgeon.Good luck,Aaron Kosins, MD

Jan 28, 2017
Thank you for your question.  Make sure to visit several experienced surgeons in your area.  Since you live in Florida, I would recommend seeing Rick Davis, MD in Miramar.  He is a rhinoplasty expert.Good luck,Aaron Kosins, MD

Cost for Rhinoplasty?
Depends
Jan 28, 2017
This really depends on where you are located and the experience of the surgeon.  The nose is in the middle of your face, so do your homework by visiting several surgeons.Good luck,Aaron Kosins, MD

Will my nose tip go down?
Be patient
Jan 28, 2017
The short answer is likely yes.  The nose changes a lot in the first few months after rhinoplasty and will continue to change for years afterwards.  The nose often looks odd for the first month because it is swollen and stiff.  Be patient.  I hope this helps.Aaron Kosins, MD

Just got my cast off yesterday after rhinoplasty and having trouble accepting results
Be patient
Jan 28, 2017
Hello and thank you for your question.  Be patient, when the cast comes off the nose looks weird in almost all cases because it is swollen and stiff.  You have to give it AT LEAST 1 month before you can start making any type of judgment.  I hope this helps.Aaron Kosins, MDPlastic & Rhinoplasty Surgeon
Am I a good candidate for rhinoplasty and a chin implant?
This is reasonable
Mar 22, 2016
An augmentation rhinoplasty (making your nose bigger) and a chin implant will balance your face quite well.  Make sure to see a rhinoplasty specialist and look at before and after photos.Aaron Kosins, MDPlastic & Rhinoplasty Surgeon
Is there an ideal nostril width? For example, should your nostrils line up with the inner corners of y
Answer depends
Mar 22, 2016
I agree with the doctor below.  Classically, your nostril width should approximate you inner canthi (inner corners of your eyes).  However, this can be wider in certain ethnicities.Aaron Kosins, MDPlastic & Rhinoplasty Surgeon
What type of rhinoplasty is recommended for best aesthetic result?
Tip Definition
Mar 22, 2016
Hello and thank you for your question.  A small hump reduction and strengthening tip support would give you a beautiful profile and the illusion of smaller nostrils.  See a rhinoplasty specialist and good luck.Aaron Kosins, MDPlastic & Rhinoplasty Surgeon
