Hi there, botox injected into the muscles that form your frown lines should not cause nasal congestion and pressure. The botox could account for the soreness along the bridge of your nose if you had an injection in that area, but pressure is more likely related to sinuses. If you continue to have symptoms after 2 weeks I would seek attention from your primary care physician or ENT.

Hi there - It is quite normal to have swelling that moves from the forehead and down into the eyes and upper lids and even into the cheeks. The tissue planes of the face are connected and gravity takes the swelling (and often the fluid from the local anesthesia) and pulls it into the lower face. Hi there - I tell my patients that even after 3 months there is still 10-15% of the swelling remaining. It could be uneven swelling that will continue to resolve over the next several months. If the unevenness is still present at 6 months I would discuss this with your surgeon as there might be minor tweaks that could be performed in the office if the nose has not settled to your liking.

The number of grafts you need is really dependent on the density you are trying to achieve. If you are going for hairline restoration that does not show signs of thinning, allows you to wear your hair as short as you do now, and has minimal downtime, then I would recommend going for an FUE procedure. By the pictures I think you could benefit from around 2,500-3,000 grafts which is near the maximum that can be completed in a single session. The nice part...

Kybella is FDA approved for the removal of submental fat, and while it is tempting to think about injecting Kybella into other areas, I think it is best served in areas requiring smaller volumes of fat removal. The amount of Kybella needed to remove fat in the posterior arms, flanks, or abdomen would make the product cost prohibitive for most patients and one could get a faster and more affordable result with liposuction.

It takes a long time for nasal swelling to go out of the nose following an open rhinoplasty procedure. We tell patients to expect a full year before the swelling is completely gone. At your next appointment I would discuss this with your surgeon, as sometimes an injection of steroid can help with scar tissue and any residual swelling that is lingering. Best of luck!

Taping the nose will not be an effective way to shape the nose after surgery. Remember that it can take many months to see the final result of your nasal surgery, but if the tip is not in the desired position at this time I would recommend you discuss this with your surgeon. Best of luck!

I allow my rhinoplasty patient's to travel after 2-3 weeks. At 11 weeks there really shouldn't be any concerns about travel as it relates to your surgery. If you get a cold or allergy symptoms you can treat them as you normally would at that point. Best of luck!

Hey there,

It is difficult to tell from the picture whether or not that lip scar is actually a vascular lesion, scarring, or what we sometimes call traumatic tattooing. This can happen if debris is trapped under the skin when the injury occurred. My suggestion is to have the lesion excised and re-closed. The vertical lines in the lips camouflage scars very nicely in this area and I think this will provide you with an excellent result!

Hey there -

You do have the option to place hair transplants in the region of your beard to correct the beard line. I would recommend undergoing an FUE procedure such as Neograft to place ~100 grafts or so into that area. Price will depend on your area and the type of procedure but in our area this would be less than $1,000 dollars. Best of luck!

Hi there -

I would recommend either Halo laser or Profractional Erbium Yag laser. The nice part about Halo is that it comes with less downtime than traditional fractionated lasers. You might need more than one treatment to get your desired results, but this can be true for other laser types as well. Furthermore, the collagen stimulation you get with Halo to improve the fine lines and wrinkles will continue to be produced up to 3 months after your treatment.

Hello -

The nose and jaw are intimately related as it relates to providing balance to the overall face. This is especially true on profile view. Given that your jaw surgery will ultimately affect the profile I would pursue your orthognathic surgery first and your rhinoplasty second. I don't think it is necessary to wait until the full orthodontic portion of the procedure is complete to have your rhinoplasty.
