We ask our patients to avoid underwire bras for the first 6 weeks following surgery because during this time the implants need to drop into the pocket, and underwire bras create the opposite effect by pushing the breasts upward. Underwire might also irritate or be uncomfortable over your incision in the inframammary fold. A sports bra is a reasonable wire-free bra that will provide good support and compression during this time period.

replacement if it was placed under the muscle. The pectoralis muscle may
contract in response to surgery, displacing the implant into a higher position.
This is temporary and typically resolves in a few weeks. It is more likely to
occur or to be more significant the first time the muscle is stretched in the
original augmentation. Many people experience little to no rise in the implant
after an implant exchange.

This is a great question, as there is not a specific age
limitation on elective surgery, but rather a health status limitation. Patients
of older age may be in excellent physical health and withstand general
anesthesia and healing without difficulty. Conversely, a younger patient may
have multiple health concerns, and may not be the best candidate for an
elective surgical procedure. We evaluate a patient’s overall health picture

That's a great question. We recommend you do begin walking lightly immediately after surgery. The main thing is not getting your heart rate up for about 2 weeks after surgery. No heavy lifting, upper body exercise for 3-4 weeks after surgery. Most patients are back to all full normal activities at 6 weeks.
