CO2 Ablative laser/CO2 non-ablative recoveries.
CO2 Laser treatment
Mar 16, 2017
The CO2 laser is by definition an ablative laser, meaning some of the skin is vaporized.  Non-ablative lasers are less robust treatments that damage the underlying skin, which is slowly exfoliated over a number of days. The most common type of CO2 laser treatments today are fractionated (not Fraxel, a non-ablative brand of laser) laser systems.  Fractionated  lasers are a technique and technology that uses thousands of micro beams to create small areas of vaporization surrounded by areas of n...
How to get rid of razor bumps scarring?
Irritated Bumps in Armpits
Jan 12, 2017
These could represent a number of benign growths or conditions-- photos would help, but an inpatient evaluatioin is much better.  Most commonly we see either skin tags, seborrheic keratosis, or benign moles in these areas which are quickly and easily removed without scar.  Ingrown hairs can also be causing the problem (razor bumps) which can be treated with either some topical treatments or changes in shaving technique.  Laser hair removal offers a longer term fix.  Feel free to conta...
Under eye circles, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, hollow tear troughs. Best recommendation?
Under Eye Bags-- Fillers or Best Reccomendations
Jan 12, 2017
From your photos, a filler can be very effective.  My preferred are Restylane Silk or Juvederm, with decision best made after actual consultation and exam.  There are many reasons for color as well that are difficult to evaluate from your photos.  Options may include fillers, lasers, and topical agents among others.  An in-person evaluation by a Board Certified Dermatologist would be best to review your options.  Take care!
Should I ask my dermatologist for Accutane or birth control to get rid of my acne?
Isotretinoin (Accutane) and Birth Control for Acne
Jan 12, 2017
ChristinaIsotretinoin (Accutane) and Birth control pills are both excellent treatment options for severe, persistent or stubborn acne.  We prescribe both many times daily, for women just like you.  Isotretinoin works exceedingly well in virtually everyone, with the possibility of acne cure after 5-7months.  Birth control pills are a safe, simple, very effective way for long term control of your acne.  Feel free to contact us or a Board Certified Dermatologist to discuss treatment options spe...
Need treatment for axillary hyperhidrosis and bromihidrosis. Is miraDry worth it?
MiraDry Has A High Patient Satisfaction
Jan 11, 2017
Miradry patients are some of our happiest cosmetic patients.  Most patient will have excellent, lifelong results with only 1 or 2 treatments.  For patients with hyperhidrosis, this treatment can be life changing.  For those who are bothered by sweat, they are ecstatic to not have to deal with anti-perspirants and deodorants, and don't worry about sweat or smell anymore.  Yes-- it's worth it!
Is it safe to have second treatment with level 5?
MiraDry Treatments for Sweating
Jan 11, 2017
We normally treat most all patients at level 5 for each and every treatment.  It is very safe with proper anesthesia, and more effective to treat at level each time.  We find many patients only need 1 treatment with this protocol, most all have responded with excellent results with 2, and rarely is a 3rd treatment needed.
Does MiraDry really work for permanently eliminating underarm odor?
MiraDry for Underarm Odor
Jan 11, 2017
Miradry effectively and permanently destroys the sweat glands in the underarm with 1-2 (sometimes 3) treatments.  By eliminating the sweat glands, we normally also see a dramatic improvement in underarm odor-- permanently.
