The patient is a 55-year-old female who had a laparoscopic gastric bypass 4 years before coming to Dr. Hall for body contouring surgery. She had lost approximately 100 pounds and was unhappy with the excess skin and fat around her waist and upper thighs.
She was not interested in having a circumferential procedure (a body lift) because of the amount of recovery required. Instead, she opted for an extended high lateral tension abdominoplasty and limited liposuction of the flanks. She was able to return to work two weeks after surgery.
