40 years old is not too old to have rhinoplasty.  We often do rhinoplasty on people in their 60's.  You certainly can reduce the bump on the bridge without affecting the tip at all.

The term "Deep plane facelift" means a lot of different things to a lot of different surgeons.  Regardless of exact technique, you should see some improvement by 1 month.  A true Deep plane Facelift as it was inititally described creates more swelling than most other techniques and so you may not see your final results for 6 months or even longer, but you still should see improvement at this time.

Without photos or an in person exam it is impossible to give you any meaningful or accurate advice that you can hang your hat on so you must take all of this advice with a grain of salt, but many people do see more sundamge on their left side for the reason that you mention.  Your physican will be able to give you good advice after you are examined.  Good luck.

You have a much higher risk of being involved in an accident on your drive to the surgery center than you do of having an anesthetic problem with Rhinoplasty.  This is a very safe procedure and you will do great.  I always have my patients get cleared by their internists just to make sure there are no rare disorders of the heart or anything that have been undiagnosed.  If you area healthy person there is very little to worry about.

Which area of your face do you want to add volume to.  Both are great options.  For the malar/submalar region, implants are a far better options for the long term.  Today's implants are excellent and completely natural appearing.  For the tear trough implants can be done but fat is a better option.  For the chin and jaw implants are by far and away a better option giving superior results that are also permanent.

This is a very common procedure performed.  In my opinion the composite implants are the best for this issue because they have the softness of silicone but the thin lyer of e-PTFE that surrounds the implant gives some tissue ingrowth to keep the implant in position.  These implants often have to be slightly modified on the table to custom fit the persons nose and this is where the artistry comes in but it is a very safe procedure with a very high sucess rate.

I just read a lot of the published answers and I am confused by some of them myself.  I am not really sure how someone can say that you are too young for a cheek lift but not to young for cheek fillers. I think that a lot of surgeons probably dont have a lot of experience with a midfacelift.  There is no skin removal with a midfacelift, it is simply an elevation of the malar fat pad.

The real answer to your question depends on your anatomy.  Everyone is different.  I have a wealth of experience with midfacelift and love the procedure for the right person, but if your not the right person you can be disappointed.  You need to first determine what the exact issue is that's bothering you and then determine which options are best for you.  Best of luck.

This is an excellent question.  All I can tell you is that performing a Facelift is a performance and it takes a great deal of stamina, dexterity, concentration and focus.  If you are confident your surgeon can provide that for you then you can should be comfortable with him.

I see a lot of people travel to similar countries and even third world countries to have plastic surgery at a very cheap price.  You get what you pay for and sometimes worse.  You are lucky there are no major deformities or problems like I have seen commonly.  You certainly sound like you would benefit from a real Facelift.

Most people are ready to return to work and be out in public comfortably at about 10days.  You can have minor swelling etc that can take 4-6 weeks to resolve.  Numbness is most often very temporary and lasts about 2-6weeks.  If there was a nerve injury ( which is very unlikely with a skilled Facelift surgeon like I am sure you went to) then the numbness can be permanent.

The ribbons are just basically specialized sutures and can be used to supercharge a Facelift but in no way are meant to provide a minimal or nonsurgical Facelift result as first hoped.  I have a huge experience with these ribbons and I use them very selectively at this point.
