Answer Snippet
I really don't like my chin. What would give me the best result to get rid of my double chin a
Simple answer for a double chin in a 40ish year old...
Feb 18, 2015
From your pictures, it does not look like you need a face or neck lift. I've had good results doing just under-the-chin liposuction and placing a chin implant if needed. I can't tell from your pictures (due to the angle) whether or not you'd benefit from a chin implant, but this can be easily determined by a quick examination. Both procedures can be done under local anesthesia in the office and would provide a great "bang-for-your-buck". You could also consider a skin...
Buccal Fat Removal or Jowl Liposuction? AIso, Should I Consider Chin Implant?
Chubby face and big cheeks are a blessing for some
Mar 4, 2012
I would suggest you be careful and not try to do too much here. Your full face gives you a youthful look, something you are going to want back in 20 years. Buccal fat removal will not do much for you. Be very careful with liposuction on your face. Maybe a small chin would help minimally. I would consider repeating the neck lipo again, I think they were probably pretty conservative the first go around.
Am I Good Candidate for Buccal Fat Pad Removal?
Buccal fat pad removal is subtle change
Mar 4, 2012
It is a bit hard to see exactly what you need in this picture. When you smile, it distorts things and makes it hard for us to see what is really happening with your face. However, you look great and I suspect would need nothing.

In my experience, removal of the buccal fat is best used as an ancillary procedure in facelifting and to keep children from chewing on their cheeks. There are other ways to change the shape of your face, and I encourage you to meet with a...

Did I Damage Results? Depression Marks on Nose After Wearing Goggles with Splint 4 Weeks Post-
Dent in nose after rhinoplasty
Mar 4, 2012
I agree with others that a splint 4 weeks out is odd. This probably wouldn't have happened if you were wearing goggles only. On a positive note, your nose looks great! I would recommend some gentle massage to the area. It will more than likely be fine.
What if I Accidently Pulled a Suture and Now the Inside of my Nose is Swollen and Tender Where
Picking sutures after rhinoplasty should be avoided
Mar 4, 2012
There are things in there that you do not want to mess with. Pulling one suture is probably not a big deal. I would tell you to keep the nostrils and just inside them coated with antibiotic ointment at all times. I tell my patients to put it on gently with a Q-tip.
Can my Bulbous nose be reduced?(photo att)
Rhinoplasty can help a bulbous nose
Mar 4, 2012
Actually, it's hard to see if your tip is actually bulbous from this side shot, but generally, people have rhinoplasty to modify the tip of the nose all of the time. It also looks like your nostrils are large and a bit flared, both things that can be modified. A straight on picture and one from the bottom would be helpful.
Too Much Nostril Show (Male). Best Technique?
Don't worry about technique, worry about your surgeon
Mar 4, 2012
I would be very careful deciding on a technique before you decide on a surgeon. Meet with someone with a good reputation (preferably a few if you really want to be careful), have them do computer imaging to show you what they can reasonably do, and go with your gut. Surgeons handle problems in different ways by influence of their training and experience. There is more than one way to skin a cat!
I Hit my Nose, Is the Swelling Mean Permanent Damage?
Swelling does not mean a broken nose
Mar 4, 2012
Definitely not. If you didn't bleed, it probably isn't broken. Just ice it over the next few days, and see what it looks like in about a week.
Can a Facelift Cause Damage to Jaw Movement, Mouth Opening? Can It Cause TMJ? What Can I Do to
Facelift usually does not cause TMJ disorder
Mar 4, 2012
It would be rare for your symptoms to be from your facelift. Sometime chewing can be a bit rough for the first couple of weeks. I agree with the other post that severe mouth opening can contribute, but this is also unlkely. I would recommend an oral surgeon who deals with joint problems. They may order an MRI of the joint. In the meantime, try Motrin and warm compresses and stay away from meals that make you chew overtime!
Droopy Smile After Facelift, Puffiness Underneath Eyes and Numbness After 19months
Nerve damage 19 months after facelift is difficult to treat
Mar 4, 2012
It sounds like the sensory nerves to your ears/neck were injured, as well as the motor nerve (facial nerve) to a certain degree. There is probably not much that can be done to help with the numbness. With regards to your asymmetric smile, botox may help. I would suggest you seek a second opinion at this point. With the indentation, fat or filler may be helpful. Again, I would at least seek another opinion before proceeding with you original doctor. Good...
What is Wrong with my One Eye? I Want Surgery
Can facial asymmetries be corrected?
Apr 19, 2011
I can see what you mean about the eyes, but as others said this falls into the category of normal facial asymmetry.  If this is particularly bothersome, sometimes techniques may be done that can camouflage the difference, such as fillers, implants, or neurotoxins.  I would caution having any "major" surgical procedure to correct asymmetry, as you are unlikely to get teh result you think that you want.  Good luck.
Will my Insurance Pay for Rhinoplasty to Correct a Crooked Nose?
Insurance coverage and rhinoplasty
Feb 12, 2011
This depends on many factors, including your insurance company, the doctor you are seeing, and your deformity.  Unfortunately, I have found that Medicaid almost never covers a pure rhinoplasty.  But, they will cover a fracture repair, septoplasty, and other functional procedures.  In my experience, if you are seeing a purely cosmetic surgeon, they are generally not going to go to the trouble of trying to get your surgery covered.  With a large reconstructive practice,...
So I'm 4 Weeks Post-op. Is my Nose Strong Enough to Return to Normalcy?
How long to "baby" your nose after rhinoplasty...
Feb 12, 2011
At 4 weeks, things are pretty stable.  Popping zits, exfoliating, and washing your nose are fine to do.  If it itches on the inside, take some Vaseline, put it on a Q-tip, and "scratch".  The itching is probably due to dryness/crusting and will improve with this treatment.  I would be careful with contact sports for another month.  Be careful with sun exposure to the columellar incision for the next year.
Is Smartxide Dot Therapy the Same As Pulsed CO2 Laser Resurfacing?
Smartxide is probably pulsed but double check
Feb 2, 2011
They are probably the same thing, you may be reading post op instructions that were modified from when the doctor used the full CO2 laser, as these were often referred to as pulsed. I would make sure that your consent says "fractional" CO2 and confirm this with the doctor before your procedure.
SmartXide for Nasolabial Folds, Crepey Skin, and Crow's Feet?
Smartxide is good for skin and wrinkles, but not for folds!
Feb 2, 2011
It will do nothing for nasolabial folds, these are better addressed with fillers and/or a midface lift. Crepey skin and crow's feet would respond well to a combo of Botox and the Smartxide laser. This may take 2-3 treatments with the laser to get the result you are looking for, but will be well worth it! I hate to recommend this because it is just a marketing ploy, but google "madonna lift" for results that you can get around the eyes with the Smarxide laser.
