Facial Asymmetry and Rhinoplasty?
Rhinoplasty and facial asymmetry
Feb 17, 2016
It sounds like you can benefit from a Rhinoplasty ( nasal surgery).  It also sounds like you have asymmetries which can be related to differences in bone growth between the right and left sides of your face. If those differences are significant, many times they can be corrected through an implant or through fat transplantation.  An experienced board-certified facial plastic surgeon will be able to answer your questions, show you before and after photos of their work, and present you with…
I need suggestions of the best plastic surgeons for a wide, big nose.
Best Rhinoplasty surgeon in Illinois
Jan 19, 2016
While credentials are important, experience is everything. Do not settle for less when considering the best surgeon to perform your Rhinoplasty surgery. Do your homework, both on the internet and by talking with friends and family. Research the surgeons within the region you are willing to travel to. Begin by seeking out Board-Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon’s who have a great deal of experience with nasal surgery. During your consultation, the surgeon should be able to…
Will my incision line flatten out?
Concerned about eyelid incision
Jan 13, 2016
It has only been three weeks since your upper eyelid surgery. You will continue to see improvements in your incision and swelling over the next several weeks. I would recommend two things:1. Be patient with your body. Recovering from surgery takes time. 2. If you have not already done so, I recommend sharing your concerns with your plastic surgeon. He will be able to access and reassure you. At some point, your surgeon my ask that you begin to…

Post-Rhinoplasty concerns of exercise and swelling
Dec 2, 2015
Unless your surgeon has advised you to wait to exercise, it is quite okay to exercise using weights one month after a Rhinoplasty. I recommend to my Rhinoplasty patients that they begin to massage the nose and tender areas at about three weeks after their surgery. This helps with swelling and gets them more comfortable with their new nose. Having some swelling four months after your Rhinoplasty is within normal limits and shouldn’t hold you back from your daily activities….
Thick skin – could I get a petite feminine nose? What do you recommend ?
Could I get a petite nose with thick skin from a rhinoplasty?
May 6, 2014
From the pictures that you show, it seems to me that the issue is not so much related to thick skin but to a wide nasal tip. A rhinoplasty would change not only your nasal profile by reducing the hump in your nose, but also by decreasing the width of your nasal tip and making the nasal tip area better defined, which will add sophistication to your nose.
I’m a 30 year old male, 5’11 and 180 lbs. What can I do about my sagging neck skin which make
30-Year Old with Sagging Neck Skin
Apr 23, 2014
Your problem can be corrected through the use of a neck lift where fatty tissue is going to be removed under direct vision from the superficial and deep portions of your submental area. At the same time, it looks like you are a candidate for a chin augmentation. Your pictures seem to show that you have an under projecting chin. In this regard, profile pictures would help to decide if that is indeed the case.
Facelift, Necklift, Lipo? If I choose facelift – which kind should I go for? 48 yrs old in NY
Which way should I go – facelift, neck lift or neck liposuction?
Apr 8, 2014
Taking into consideration that you are a 48-year old, it is likely that the procedure of choice would be a standard cheek/neck lift, which is the proper term for a so-called facelift.A cheek/neck lift will consist of elevation of the soft tissues in your face and neck as well as an elevation and tightening of the deep muscle structure via one of several techniques. If you do have a substantial amount of fatty tissue in your neck, this may be removed by direct excision of the fat, or if…
What dermal filler is best for cheek lift?
Which dermal filler is best for a cheek lift?
Apr 2, 2014
A cheek augmentation can be easily, inexpensively and expediently carried out with the use of Radiesse. Although there are other products such as Voluma that can be used, they have a higher cost and other issues associated with them that Radiesse does not. However, when I consider a cheek augmentation in a 22-year old, I like to counsel the idea that there are many years ahead and the use of dermal fillers may not be the best answer for the problem. One must entertain the idea of…
I want to have fat transferred to my lower eye lids. What should I look for in an MD?
What should I look for in a MD for fat transfer to the lower eyelids?
Mar 11, 2014
While it is always important to have surgery and/or procedures done by a board certified physician in the specialty appropriate for the procedure (for this particular one – facial plastic and reconstructive surgery or the equivalent), the most important factor is a physician who has sufficient experience with fat transfer procedures, and particularly, microfat transplantation to the face. I would imagine that an experience of greater than 20 cases would be essential and at the time of…
Can my general nose mass be made smaller?
Can the general mass of my nose be made smaller?
Mar 7, 2014
In looking at your nasal picture, there are two things that are quite obvious, the first one is that there is a greater width at the base of the nose (the radix) and the second one is that there is an obvious disconnect between the bony nose and the cartilaginous nose – that is between the top and bottom half of the nose. When the transition between the cartilaginous and bony nose is quite sharp, there is an unsettling disconnect of the nose that nasal surgery can correct by narrowing…
I had a nose job 2 weeks ago. Will the bridge of my nose will get any smaller?
Will my nose get smaller?
Mar 7, 2014
While two weeks is definitely too short of a time to make
any kind of decisions as to the result you have from surgery, a more likely
time for evaluation of the nasal dorsum is 6 to 8 weeks post op. At that point, issues that are quite
obvious are probably issues that will remain.

In some instances, the swelling of the nasal dorsum is
related to so-called supra tip deformity, which can be easily corrected by
resection of a small amount of cartilage at the level of the dorsal…

What is the best way to remove nasolabial folds?
Best Way to Remove Nasal Labial Folds
Feb 25, 2014
While there is seldom a “best way” to remove nasal labial folds, because every patient is somewhat different and would respond to a different procedure, the real answer to the question is that the only permanent way to remove nasal labial folds is the excision of the nasal labial fold itself through an open approach directly over it.There are many procedures that will help the nasal labial fold – primary in our practice the mid facelift in which the nasal labial fold becomes part of the mid…
Bilateral Temporal Brow Lift vs. Upper Lid Blepharoplasty?
Should I have upper blepharoplasty or bilateral temporal brow lift?
Feb 18, 2014
In my opinion, whatever treatment you elect to have must include fat transplantation to your upper eyelids. The inside and upper portion of your eyelid (the medial supra tarsal area of your eyelids) has a large void, which prevents your eyelid from looking youthful unless you add volume to this area. This volume can be added by a properly done microfat transplantation. The idea that you may have excess skin in the lateral aspect of the eyelid could be corrected by either a…

I have bad under-eye wrinkles, bags and sagging when I smile. Is surgery the only option?
Jan 29, 2014
In order to answer your question properly, one needs to
unfold the question and answer each complaint individually. In so far as wrinkles, there are two
types of wrinkles of the lower eyelid.
Ones that are there all the time whether your face is in motion or at
rest, and the wrinkles that appear only when you are smiling. The wrinkles that appear only when your
smile are a good candidate for Botox treatment because, in essence, nothing
else will take care of the wrinkles…
How to choose the right doctor for CO2 Laser?
Choosing a Physician for CO2 Laser Resurfacing
Jan 24, 2014
Lasers are inherently safe machines; however, they depend on the operator knowing the parameters to be used during the procedure. It is extremely important that the physician who is operating the laser during CO2 resurfacing is well-trained in its use. This is particularly true if the laser is an older generation 100% tissue injury laser. The specialty of the physician may be facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, dermatology, or plastic surgery. The specialty is…
