3rd time revision rhinoplasty
Sep 11, 2019
Hi. Thanks for posting your questions.
Without photos, it’s difficult to give accurate advice.
Revision rhinoplasty can be very distressing for patients, especially if you have already gone through two rhinoplasty. The thought of having to go through surgery without any guarantees of what sort of outcome to be expected can be very stressful and anxiety provoking.
Seek out an assessment and opinion from a surgeon experienced in revision rhinoplasty to fully discuss your current concerns…
Distraught with primary rhinoplasty results, how can it be fixed?
Long droopy nasal tip
Sep 11, 2019
Hi. Thanks for posting your questions and photos.
From the photos provided, I make the following observation:
1. Your nose is long.
2. The naso-labial angle is too acute.
3. There is a hanging columella appearance.
4. The tip is droopy and under-rotated.
A revision rhinoplasty would entail rotating the nasal tip, de-projecting it, and flattening the area below the tip toward the columella, an supporting the tip. In my opinion, cartilage grafts will be essential in achieving the above goals…
Is it possible to change the way your nose looks when you smile?
Nasal Dynamics
Sep 11, 2019
Thanks for your questions and photos.
There are two aspects to your concern. The first is the elevation of the nostrils (or ala). This elevation cannot be effectively and predictably corrected. It is a dynamic movement. That is, there is a muscle that lifts the nostril up, and the degree of movement differs person to person. You can cut this muscle and/or remove part of it, but it often will regenerate and the issue recurs. I will often tell patients that this dynamic nostril end movement is…
Can a revision rhinoplasty make my nose smaller?
Inverted V deformity
Apr 28, 2019
Hi. Thanks for posting your photos and questions.
I can see the inverted V deformity you allude to. The first step in understanding how this is treated is to know what the underlying cause and anatomy of an inverted V is. You have cartilages in the midsection of your nose. After a rhinoplasty, these cartilages (for whatever reason) can collapse, which makes this midsection fall in and be narrower than the bony “upper” section. This not only causes the V appearance, but it can lead to…

Droopy Nasal Tip
Apr 28, 2019
Hi. Thanks for posting your questions and photos.
It’s hard to give an accurate opinion on your nose without actually physically examining it. One important questions I ask myself when faced with a case like yours is how well supported is the nasal tip. When you push on it, is it floppy? or is it strong? If your nose tip is not well supported, it may continue to droop, which will accentuate any dorsal hump that you may have. In such situations, continuing to file down the bone…

Revision Rhinoplasty
Apr 28, 2019
Hi. Thanks for posting your questions and photo.
It’s hard to tell from just one wide angle front on photo the true state of your nose. There are several questions that arise: was there any asymmetry or deviation of your nose prior to surgery? what did your nose look like before surgery? Do you have any breathing issues? Is there anything else about your nose other than the asymmetry that bothers you?
If you feel you cannot confidently continue your care with your…
