Answer Snippet
I have uneven nasolabial folds and I'm looking for a solution?
nasolabial fold asymmetry
Jul 26, 2016
Hello. Generally we use neuromodulators like Botox for problems associated with motion and fillers like Radiesse and Juvederm for problems when the face is at rest. Neither is permanent. The best thing would be for you to visit an experienced facial plastic surgeon for a consultation. I hope this helps.
How long must I wait after double jaw surgery to get Rhinoplasty?
How long to wait
Apr 28, 2016
The short answer is to wait until all swelling goes down and your oral surgeon clears you for more surgery. The most conservative approach is to wait a full year and then consider rhinoplasty. Subtle changes can occur during the first year after a big surgery and you want everything in your favor when you undertake a rhinoplasty. You want everything to go right so that it is your first and last nasal procedure. Best of luck to you.
Does my chin seem small? This is the only thing about my face that bugs me. How would I make it more
Chin too small?
Mar 6, 2016
If you're looking to widen the chin from the front view, this could be accomplished with an implant or a long acting filler injection. I would want to know what your profile looks like and if you're looking to strenghten that as well. If so, I'd probably lean more towards the implant. I advise you to seek out an experienced surgeon who can show you actual results on other patients and has extensive experience with both implants and injectables. Best of luck with this.
I broke my nose when I was 10 and I never fixed it. Any suggestions?
Broken nose at young age
Feb 2, 2016
Hello. Since your nose was broken while you were young and still growing, I'd like to know if the internal structures of the nose, especially the middle wall, or septum, were affected and to what extent. There is a good chance the nose can be improved and breathing may become improved also. My best advice is to seek out an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon in your area and let him/her examine you and recommend what needs to be done. The cost of the rhinoplasty will depend on how much work is...
What kind of surgery do you need for a crooked nasal fracture?
how and when to straighten nose after closed reduction
Nov 29, 2015
Closed reduction of a nasal fracture is always a bit of a crapshoot - sometimes it works and sometimes not. It's often worth a try because it can possibly save you from a larger surgery later. While it's too early to operate on most noses in the situation that you describe, it's not too early to start planning and talking about what needs to be done. It is very likely that if the nose is significantly crooked, it will have to be re-broken. In addition, cartilage work may have to be done. I...
Rhinoplasty revision graft required in your opinion?
Rhinoplasty question
Nov 14, 2015
The best answer is that your surgeon will not be sure what type of graft (if any) is required until he/she gets in there and sees what the anatomy is truly like.I advise you to seek a very experienced rhinoplasty surgeon as revision surgery is at least one order of magnitude more demanding than surgery on an unoperated nose.Best of luck and let me know if I can help.Michael Godin MDRichmond VA
Based on my pictures, is it possible that I can obtain a nose like this?
Rhinoplasty questions
Nov 14, 2015
Based on your photos, it appears your nose can definitely be refined. You'll be happiest if you pursue a natural-looking result, which should be possible, I think.Best of luck to you.Michael Godin MDRichmond VA
Is revision Rhinoplasty risky?
Is revision rhinoplasty risky?
Oct 28, 2015
The short answer is: Yes, always. Revision rhinoplasty is more complicated because there is scar tissue present and the natural structure has been changed. Having said that, sometimes it is the best thing to do. Look for an experienced surgeon who has done alot of revision rhinoplasty to advise you. Best of luck.MIchael Godin MD
Facelift, necklift, both, chin implant, or fillers?
surgery vs fillers
Sep 2, 2015
If you pull on your neck and jawline and like what you see, then surgery might be the answer for you, even though you're on the young side for it.The side view you sent is not a true lateral, you're not turned enough in it to judge, but a chin implant might be very helpful. You would need to be seen in person for this.Best of luck to you,Michael GodinRichmond VA
Do I need a blepharoscopy or a brow lift?
Bleph vs brow lift
Aug 25, 2015
I'd want to see you to be sure, but it looks like there is a good bit of extra skin in your upper lids, so a blepharoplasty would likely be helpful. The surgeon must be careful not to remove too much upper eyelid skin so that if a brow lift is needed in the future, it can be done safely.Best of luck to you.
How could my nose be improved? Droopy, large for face, bulbous tip
rhinoplasty question
Jan 29, 2015
Thanks for your question. I'd like to see you in person to help you decide, but you appear to be a good candidate for rhinoplasty. Best of luck in your search.
Why would a lower face lift cost $30,000?
30K facelift
Jan 13, 2015
I know of no facial plastic or plastic surgeons that charge $30,000 for a facelift. The cost seems exorbitant to me. I suppose if the doctor is the most sought after surgeon in a large market, that is possible. But be aware you can certainly get an excellent operation elsewhere at a much lower cost. If I were you, I'd keep looking best of luck.
Lower face lift - am I a candidate?
Lower face lift
Jan 6, 2015
Your photos suggest that a small, targeted lift would offer you the most improvement. I would need to see you in consultation to confirm that you're a good candidate, but you see to be. Best regards.
Am I prepared?
Are you ready for rhinoplasty?
Jan 6, 2015
I can generally do rhinoplasty for girls beginning around 16 years of age and for boys around 18 years. It has as much to do with mental maturity as physical growth. Best of luck.
Why is my nose still off center after a closed reduction?
Time will tell
May 27, 2014
Closed reductions are usually done while there is still some swelling in the nose from trauma. Thus, they are an attempt to get the nose straighter, but not usually as accurate or precise as osteotomies in elective rhinoplasty. You should definitely check with your doctor to see if he/she is satisfied with your progress at this point. Your options would then be to go in now and correct something if there is an obvious problem, or wait and see how the nose heals. In my practice I have patient...
