Following eyelid surgery there is very little pain. It is common to see swelling and bruising for a week to 10 days following the surgery. All the sutures are removed 6 days post-operative. After 7 days, cover-up make-up can be applied to conceal the bruising. Most of my patients return to work between a week and 10 days following surgery. It is always wise to choose a well-trained, experienced, and board certified plastic surgeon.

Most of our patients undergoing full facelifts are back to work in 2 weeks or less time. All the sutures are out by 10-12 days after the surgery. There still may be a little swelling/bruising in front of the ears, which is easily covered with make-up.

In terms of recovery, you can expect swelling and bruising for a couple of weeks, and a minimal amount of discomfort for a few days. Most of our patients will take extra strength Tylenol and don't need narcotic pain medicine. Most of our patients are back to work in a week.

The cost of a rhinoplasty does depend on where you have it done. However, much more important than the cost are the qualifications and capabilities of the surgeon performing the surgery. For every primary rhinoplasty I perform, I operate on 2-3 times that number of patients who have had anywhere from 2-7 previous rhinoplasty procedures by other doctors. Often times, the patient was shopping for a low price and not the experience and qualification of the doctor.
