Can revision rhinoplasty correct an under-projected tip?
Postoperative appearance
Aug 26, 2015
This may not be the answer that you want to hear, but you had some very difficult problems preoperatively (severely twisted middle vault with collapsed upper lateral cartilages and a saddle nose deformity). While not perfect, we rarely achieve perfection and that result looks to me markedly improved from preoperatively. While you are now 5 months postop (not 1 month), things will continue to settle and improve for the next 6-12 months.
When can I train and compete normally again? Will my nose be more fragile? Should I consider removing so
Getting back to training
Jul 10, 2015
I am
interested in answering your question because I am involved in martial arts
too. How quickly you recover from a rhinoplasty depends on several factors,
including how invasive your procedure was and genetics. The factor that you can
control, however, is how much you limit activity directly after surgery. The
more you limit activity, the quicker your nose will heal.

I believe that you should not exercise for 3 weeks after
surgery and should not participate in contact sports for 6...

Is my nose still look crooked after rhinoplasty surgery?
Crooked nose and swelling
Jul 10, 2015
Swelling
tends to peak two days after surgery. Approximately three weeks after
rhinoplasy surgery, you should notice that 90% of your swelling has
disappeared. Swelling can make your nose appear bigger or even a bit crooked. It
is very normal for the remaining 10% of swelling to take up to a year to fully
disappear. Because the nose is so complex (bone, cartilage, soft tissue, etc.)
it can take a fair amount of time for the nose to completely settle and regain
its shape. Final results should...
I want to get the hump on my nose fixed, I tried to photoshop it before and I can't seem to make it look
Rhinoplasty consideration
Jul 10, 2015
When deciding
to undergo any procedure, it is critical to have a consultation with your
surgeon. This allows him to examine your features and discuss with you the most
effective steps to take. When working on removing a bump in someone’s nose, I
often accompany that with tip work to achieve optimal proportions.

At my office,
we offer a system that allows you to see your results post-op without
undergoing any procedure: Vectra 3D imaging. This new system focuses on the
face and neck...

My nose is too big, I'm tired of photoshopping every picture of my nose. Any advice?
Your nose
Jul 1, 2015
Based on what I can see from your photos, there are certainly things that could be improved upon. It does appear wide particularly along the nasal sidewalls, and from I can see it isn't perfectly straight. With more appropriate photography one could determine if it was also out of proportion with your chin or the rest of your face, which can give the illusion that a nose is "too big" even when the issue is really that other structures (like the chin) are actually too small. I would recommend...
Is it normal for nasal spray to make its way to the other nostril ?
Nasal spray
Jul 1, 2015
The concern would be a septal perforation, or hole in the wall dividing the two sides of the nose. The only way to know would be a physical examination by your surgeon. If one is not identified, it may just be your perception, and often as the nose heals and reinnervates these type of symptoms resolve on their own.
I am going to Guatemala in August for 2 weeks, would it be bad to get Rhinoplasty done about 2 weeks bef
Six weeks is usually a safe time to travel after surgery
Jun 23, 2015
After a rhinoplasty surgery, you can expect to have swelling
and/or bruising for about a week to two weeks. The swelling will continue to
dissipate over a period of about three months, but some swelling can last up to
about a year. It is very common for patients to want to go on a vacation post
surgery to avoid contact with acquaintances. However, at two weeks out there is
still a risk of major complications such as bleeding or infection. You also
really need to avoid sun exposure early on...
I had rhinoplasty 3 days ago. My nostrils look large. I still have the cast on, when this comes off will
Your nose needs time to heal completely
Jun 23, 2015
Following rhinoplasty
surgery, the cast is removed after about a week and bruising should be fully
resolved after another week to ten days. The nose undergoes significant changes
over a period of about three months as the swelling dissipates. However,
swelling can last up to a year as the nose has many different features
(cartilage, bone, soft tissue, etc.) that need time to recover fully. Most
patients can return to daily activities after about a week of rest and you
should avoid sun...
Am I too young to have a Rhinoplasty performed?
You may want to wait until your nose stops developing
Jun 23, 2015
Around
age twelve, your maxillary sinuses start to develop and elongate the shape of
the face, which can also affect the shape of the forehead. A male nose does not
stop growing and developing until approximately age sixteen to eighteen and can
continue to grow until age twenty. I believe that fifteen is too young to have
a rhinoplasty simply because you have several more years of growth ahead of
you. I understand how difficult it can be to want to change something that
makes you feel...
Rhinoplasty Swelling
Swelling can last up to a year
Jun 23, 2015
Bruising
can last about two weeks after a rhinoplasty surgery but some patients can be
bruised for up to six weeks. In terms of swelling, you should be about 75%
healed after about 3 months and it is very normal to see swelling for up to a
year or more. Because there are so many layers to the nose (bone, cartilage,
soft tissue, etc.) it takes a fair amount of time for every layer to fully
recover. Everyone is different. Having any procedure disturbs and affects your
body in various ways and...
Rhinoplasty Recovery Time and Downtime?
A few things to consider
Jun 23, 2015
How quickly you recover depends on
several factors including how invasive your procedure was and genetics. The
factor that you can control, however, is how much you limit activity directly
after surgery. Following nose surgery, the splint is removed after about a week
and bruising should be fully resolved after another week to ten days. The nose
undergoes significant changes over a period of about three months as the
swelling dissipates. Most patients can return to work after a week of rest...
My nose is asymmetrical and huge, is there any hope for my nose?
Hope for your nose
Feb 1, 2015
There is absolutely hope for your nose! It's a little difficult to fully evaluate your nose from those photos, but it appears that it is crooked, that the tip is bulbous (wide), and possible needs more projection and refinement. The skin looks a bit thick from the photo, which will present challenges, but certainly not insurmountable. In short, it appears that you would absolutely benefit from a rhinoplasty. The question of cost is very difficult though. It depends greatly on...
I am on amoxicillin and am scheduled for Botox tomorrow. Will the antibiotics interfere with the Botox o
Botox and Antibiotics
Jan 30, 2015
Botox is not known to interact with any antibiotics, but as mentioned you should make sure the injections are not occurring at the site of the infection.
My nose collapsed after primary nose surgery. Any suggestions?
Middle Nasal Vault Collapse
Jan 23, 2015
It appears to me that you have an "inverted V deformity" with middle nasal vault collapse. This means that the cartilages in the middle third of your nose are collapsing off of the bridge and nasal bones downward into your nose. I do believe that cartilage grafting with spreader grafts is the mainstay of therapy for this problem. It's not just the actual grafting of the cartilage, but the act of resuspending the collapsed cartilages (along with the new spreader grafts) upward and outward...
Do the most expensive doctors provide the best services? The range in Toronto for rhinoplasty is around
Expensive doctors
Oct 16, 2014
I do not believe that the more expensive surgeon is necessarily the better surgeon. You may be paying for his or her expensive marketing program or cost of practice in a high rent district rather than actual surgical skill.Ask around, make sure they are board certified, look at before and after photos, and find someone you feel comfortable with.
