At this point in time, it is too early to make judgements about your cosmetic result. You are very early in the recovery period after rhinoplasty. I typically tell patients that a majority of swelling is gone after 6 months, but the nose will take a full year to fully heal. I would try to be patient and stay the course. You are correct, NSAIDs are typically not recommended when undergoing facial cosmetic surgery. Specifically for rhinoplasty surgery, NSAIDs will increase intraoperative bleeding, which will subsequently lead to more swelling/bruising and a prolonged recovery. This excessive swelling may also not completely resolve leading to issues with your final result. I suggest you speak to your primary physician, to discuss other pain control options. Good Luck!

Even when septal deviation is not present, septal cartilage is routinely harvested during rhinoplasty for grafting purposes.
