Procedure Of Rhinoplasty With Doctor Byrd, Dallas, Texas
This 25 year old patient is an excellent example of the importance of the partnership that should exist between the rhinoplasty patient and the rhinoplasty surgeon. At each initial consultation with a rhinoplasty patient, a series of photos is taken of the patients nose/face from several different angles. Some of these photographs are used for imaging purposes to show the patient a representation of what their nose will look like after the surgery. Those images insure that the patient and the surgeon are in complete agreement on the anticipated surgical outcome. Usually it only takes one set of images, but occasionally the patient isn't completely happy with the initial computer generated "after" pictures. At that point, the surgeon either makes adjustments in the surgical plan, or tells the patient that the look and the outcome they're striving for isn't surgically possible to achieve. This patient asked for her images to be re-done to incorporate some concerns she had with the initial computer images. The surgical plan was adjusted and the images re-done with both patient and surgeon agreeing on the images that reflected the anticipated outcome. This patient had suffered no injury to her nose and had no trouble breathing, so her rhinoplasty procedure was a purely aesthetic based revision. A dorsal hump, bulbous tip, alar malposition and a nose a bit too large for her face were addressed and corrected during surgery. Post-op at two years. (Apr 2, 2014)
