Hair loss at site of traumatic injury such as a laceration
Aug 28, 2015
Traumatic injury to hairy areas such as the scalp or eyebrows can cause hair loss. The site where the hair used to be will be replaced with scar tissue. The scar tissue can be removed and the hair edges are approximated or closed to alleviate the scarred area of scalp containing no hair or a minor hair transplant can be performed at the site of injury.
How do I get my natural skin color back?
Discoloration of the skin due to acne
Aug 24, 2015
Discoloration of the skin due to acne can be difficult to treat because the dark spots are often too small for lightening preparation to stay on the site. Chemical peeling, microdermabrasion and skin blending are some of the alternative methods to even the skin tone. I would recommend that you see a dermatologist who has the experience in treating dark spots in darker skin types to avoid any unwanted discoloration while trying to treat the existing issue; however in the meantime, wear a...

Acne is one of the most common causes for the uneven surface; therefore, be sure that your dermatologist has your acne under control. There are a number of scar revision techniques that can be done in the office setting to soothe the texture. Subcision, needling and laser devices can address uneven skin texture; rolling hill, ice pick and box car type acne scaring and...
I have a burn after IPL. How should I treat it?
scars following IPL treatment
Aug 14, 2015
IPL isn't suitable for every skin type and therefore, test spots should be conducted with all lasers and light devices. Most burns are either first or second degree in nature. Generally, wound care is the first step of action followed by lightening agents and/or tretinoin once the are heals. It may take weeks and sometime months before the dark marks resolve from a burn.
Is plastic surgery an option for acne scars on back?
Acne scars on the back
Aug 11, 2015
Any inflammatory events such as acne can cause scarring of the skin. It is important to address any active disease before the scars are addressed. It is difficult to appreciate a 3 dimensional aspect of your scars from the photograph; however, there appears to be several types of scars on the back which may require several methods for scar revision. Intralesional injections, laser and other topical therapies would be suitable in addition to addressing the discoloration.
