Used tretinoin after a year and no peeling. Why not?
Tretinoin and no peeling
Apr 14, 2015
I agree that a patient does not have to have peeling in order for Tretinoin to be effective. Tretinoin comes in different strengths (0.025%, 0.05%, and 0.1%) and I'm not certain of the strength that you are currently using. I recommend that you consult with a board-certified dermatologist in your area to be evaluated. If you are applying a milder strength, the board-certified dermatologist after evaluation may suggest a stronger strength. I hope this helps.
I'm 50 yrs, using clear and tretinoin in night and clear sunscreen in day. Neck and eyes?
Tretinoin and aging
Apr 14, 2015
Tretinoin can be used indefinitely in you are not pregnant. Tretinoin is a retinoid and is an excellent option in giving yourself a fresher more youthful appearance. Tretinoin irritates the skin causing it to peel and allowing new cell growth because of the rapid turnover of old cells . Tretinoin can reduce fine wrinkles, areas of darkened skin color, and rough areas in sun-damaged skin. I recommend that patients use Tretinoin at night because it can make individuals...
Can Tazorac be used as a permanent regime and what are the side effects?
Tazorac permanently
Apr 14, 2015
Tazorac is safe to use indefinitely unless you are planning on becoming pregnant or are pregnant. If you are planning on becoming pregnant, discontinue 2 weeks prior to attempting pregnancy because Tazorac is a category X medication in pregnancy. Tazorac is an excellent choice for the treatment of acne and the prevention of acne. In my experience, Tazorac has benefited some of my patients with photodamage on their face from the sun. I hope this helps.
Best acne treatment solution for me?
Acne Treatment
Apr 14, 2015
There are many treatment options to improve your acne. Treatment options are different for every patient because every patient responds differently to different treatment regimens. I recommend that you consult with a board-certified dermatologist in your area who specializes in acne to properly diagnosis and treat your acne. Common acne treatments include topical benzyol peroxides, salicylic acids, chemical peels, dermabrasion, topical retinoids, topical acne medications,...
Noritate and make-up ?
Noritate and applying make-up
Apr 13, 2015
Yes, you may apply the Noritate first and then your make-up. I agree that a mineral based powder is good. I have also found that a green and yellow tint make-up may also be helpful in neutralizing the red color.
Can tazorac be used with sulfacet R?
Tazorac and Sulfacet R
Apr 13, 2015
Yes, it is okay to use these two medications together. Sulfacet R contains an antibacterial agent, to kill acne-causing bacteria, and a drying agent which promotes shedding of the top layer of skin, in order to unclog pores. Tazorac is a retinoid. Retinoids can unclog pores and with continued use prevent dead cells from clogging pores. Once the pores are unclogged it then allows other medications, like the Sulfacet R, to enter the hair shaft and fight any underlying infection.
Tazorac Cream (.5%) and Clarisonic- okay to use together?
Tazorac and Clarisonic together
Apr 13, 2015
As long as there is no irritation with the use of the Tazorac and Clarisonic, I see no reason to stop. If your skin does become irritated, then I would discontinue the Clarisonic use.
