How safe is Botox and filler on a patient who suffered deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism d
Botox not an embolism risk
Oct 23, 2022
There should be no thromboembolic effect from routine botulinum toxin injection. Fillers always have a small risk of inadvertent injection into vessels, but I suspect that risk is similar in or out of pregnancy. Bigger elective surgical procedures like facelifts should probably deferred until after pregnancy, both due to anesthesia issues and the recognition that pregnancy will likely change your appearance, temporarily but also permanently. Better to wait to see how things settle our,…
Is Topalise, the hyaluronidase cream, effective for removing fillers?
That’s not it
May 2, 2022
The under-eye filler you had “several years ago” is almost certainly not there anymore. Tear trough filler usually disappears within a year. The “bags” you’re noticing may be best addressed a lower lid blepharoplasty, although perhaps more filler would help.
I want to get LASIK done but I’m worried it will cause a brown discoloration of my sclera. I’m black
Brown sclera not a LASIK risk
Sep 24, 2020
Refractive laser treatment is performed only on the cornea, and should not have any pigmentary effect on the sclera. While there are many other risks involved in LASIK surgery, the development of new brown discoloration on the white of the eye is extremely unlikely.
I have peach fuzz under my eyes that’s noticeable with makeup, what would be the best way to remove
Traditional hair removal techniques may not work
Aug 31, 2020
Most hair removal techniques are based on absorption of certain wavelengths of light by melanin. If melanin is absent (“peach fuzz”), these techniques may not be satisfactory.
Can NanoFractional Radio Frequency cause collagen to breakdown, leaving a bumpy texture on the skin?
Hard to overtreat with Morpheus
Feb 26, 2020
Morpheus radiofrequency therapy is fractionated — with plenty of untreated tissue between the RF columns to heal and repopulate the treated areas — and the treatment area is all buried deeply where the Morpheus tips are, leaving the skin surface relatively untouched. That allows for very aggressive treatment, when desired, with virtually no redness or downtime by the next day. It’s a great option when compared to older fractional laser machines.
IPL and Morpheus 8 together? Is it ok to have IPL and Morpheus 8 on the same day?
Morpheus & IPL great combo!
Feb 26, 2020
I love this combined therapy which addresses skin rejuvenation and dyschromia (skin color issues) in different ways, but with virtually no downtime at all. Morpheus has a huge advantage over other fractional therapies because the treatment is at the tips of the probes and isn’t initiated until the tips are buried. That way the skin surface isn’t immediately affected no redness. Most people don’t see redness by the next day, even when a maximum treatment is performed.
Can you have cataract surgery with posterior vitreous detachment (PVD),and floaters ?
Posterior vitreous detachment & cataract surgery
Feb 26, 2020
If the vitreous has completely separate from the retina (a complete PVD) the risk of complications from cataract surgery is probably not increased at all, as the retina is unlikely to tear if the vitreous is not sticking or pulling on the retina. Changes in floaters are fairly unpredictable — some people notice their floaters more because there’s no cataract to block the view. Other people notice floaters less because everything is brighter and clearer.
