Getting the Best Results Possible?
getting the best result possible with rhinoplasty
Jun 18, 2013
The difference between open vs. closed rhinoplasty is one very small incision that typically heals to the point of being very difficult to find. A good rhinoplasty surgeon can offer either approach. I would allow the surgeon to use the approach he/she feels will yield the best result in your case. When deciding on a surgeon to perform rhinoplasty, it is extremely important to visit with a surgeon who performs many of these procedures as rhinoplasty is one of the more technical procedures...
How Would a Facial Plastic Surgeon Be Able to Avoid Long Incisions Across the Forehead of a Balding
avoiding long incisions across the forehead on balding patients
Apr 30, 2013
If one is undergoing a facelift only, ie. cheek and neck lift, there are no incisions that go across the forehead. The only time incisions are made in the forehead, more commonly in the frontal hairline if present, is when one is undergoing a forehead lift. Keep in mind a forehead lift is meant to lift the brows, it is not done for the horizontal wrinkles. If one is interested in softening the horizontal wrinkles of the forehead, Botox or Dysport work very well, although temporary.
Lipo or Neck Lift?
neck lift or liposuction?
Apr 24, 2013
A complete consultation would be necessary to determine this. It is my opinion however, that neck liposuctioin alone rarely gives one the result they are looking for. To the contrary it can add age to the neck. It is often the loose skin and the looseness of the muscles which causes the aging changes in the neck. Neck lifts alone often fail. It is much better to perform a cheek/neck lift (facelift) to obtain optimal reults. If you cut corners, the results suffer.
6 Weeks Post Neck and Lower Face Lift. Outcome Acceptable? Not Much Difference from Pre Surgery. Lu
6 weeks post neck and facelift
Mar 28, 2013
It is difficult to tell exactly without a complete physical examination. However, based on the photos provided, it appears you have residual swelling and thickness under the chin (submental area). This is very common after facelift surgery and may take weeks to months to resolve. Visit with your surgeon about injection steroids into the thickened areas as this may speed up the resolution. It is way too eary to contemplate revisional surgery.
Cheek Augmentation: Implants, Fat Transfer or Fillers?
midface augmentation
Mar 27, 2013
Certainly a complete physical examination is necessary to answer your questions. However, based on the photos, the midface area is very weak. As we get older, the malar fat pad shrinks and descends down the cheek, leading to volume loss in this area. I find submalar implants work very well to rejuvenate this area. The implants are placed through a small incision inside the upper lip. They are permanent yet reversible. One can consider other fillers such as Restylane/Perlane, Juverderm,...
Can a Buccal Fat Removal & Cheek Filler Be Done at Once?
buccal fat pad removal
Mar 19, 2013
I am not a fan of buccal fat pad removal. As we age we naturally loose volume in the midface (area of the buccal fat pad), adding age to the face. It is very important to keep this fullness in the midface, it is a sign of youth. If one removes this fat now, they without a doubt will most likely be replacing it years down the road.
Disappointing Botox Brow Lift Result - Can This Be Fixed, or Am I in for 3-4 Unpleasant Months? (ph
disappointing Botox Brow Lift
Mar 19, 2013
The good news about the effects of Botox is that they gradually wear off. If you had the horizontal lines of the forehead injected, it is not uncommon to see the brows come down a bit and look heavy, especially if the injection sites were low and too far out to the sides. This heaviness will subside and should get slowly better each week that passes. Injecting Botox in the vertical lines between the eyebrows and the crows feet by the eyes, may help elevate the heaviness of the brows as...
Does Lengthening the Tip with a Graft Contribute to Producing a Narrower Tip?
lengthening the nose and narrowing the tip
Mar 11, 2013
If a nose has been over shortened, one can add a tip graft to add length back to the nose. This does not necessarily make the tip look narrower, however a tip graft can be placed to add definition and projection to the nasal tip, thereby creating a narrower tip. Skin thickness will also play a role as to how much narrowing one can get, as the skin has to shrink wrap to the new framework underneath. Thicker skin will not shrink wrap as much as thinner skin, therefore limiting how much...
