Answer Snippet
Am I good candidate for rhinoplasty or the nonsurgical rhinoplasty technique?
Surgical vs. Nonsurgical rhinoplasty
Dec 2, 2019
Great question! It’s tough to say without having more photos to really give you a proper nasal analysis. Non-surgical rhinoplasties are becoming more popular but I suspect you need a true surgical rhinoplasty as fixing a flattened nostril is best done surgically. Minor manipulations along the dorsum of the nose can be achieved with non-surgical techniques but to address your particular issue especially since you’re considering changing the overall shape your best bet is…
Would a blepharoplasty or brow lift (or both) be recommended for my heavy brow/eyelids?
Upper Bleph and Brow lift
Nov 26, 2019
Great question. It looks like you may have a combination of things going on including excess upper eyelid skin, low lying eyebrows, and possibly eyelid ptosis as well. Thus, repairing one or all of these things might prove to be the answer but an in-person evaluation is needed for a proper physical exam and to determine what would best help you. Best of luck!!
I have thick skin and bulbous tip if I get rhinoplasty to make it smaller and less bulbous will it
Rhinoplasty i
Nov 20, 2019
Thanks for your question. In looking at your pictures I think it is definitely possible to achieve a more feminine and defined nasal tip. And while your goals can be achieved surgically I would caution you on traveling too far for surgery just because long term follow up is needed in order to be able to achieve the best result. The healing and swelling from a rhinoplasty can take a long time and close follow up with your surgeon is essential and so if you won’t be able to stay in…
I had an anterior and posterior cervical fusion C2-C7. Would I be a good candidate for a full musc
Facelift after spine surgery
Nov 20, 2019
Hi, it’s tough to say whether you are a good candidate without pictures or an in-person consultation. However, I would say that just because you’ve had cervical spine surgery doesn’t mean you couldn’t also undergo a facelift/neck lift. When I’ve had patients that have had neck issues such as yours I have always just spoken to their spine surgeon directly and gotten their permission/clearance to undergo surgery as their is a significant amount of neck movement that occurs during the…
Will getting a rhinoplasty have any effect on my Eustachian Tube Dysfunction and ear popping?
Rhinoplasty and ETD
Nov 15, 2019
Great question. I’ll echo what the other surgeons have answered in saying that a rhinoplasty would not be expected to have much of an effect on ETD negative or positive. However, a caveat I would add as an ENT-trained facial plastic surgeon is that if the rhinoplasty improves your nasal breathing it could theoretically have a beneficial effect on your ETD. Having better airflow dynamics through your nose has beneficial effects on the mucosal lining of the nose, sinuses, and…
Is an otoplasty the right procedure for asymmetrical ears that are shaped very differently? (photo
Otoplasty
Nov 15, 2019
Thanks for your question. This is a tough one to answer without better photographs. From your pictures there is definitely some asymmetry present but exactly which type of otoplasty technique to use is not obvious without an in-person examination and discussion of your goals. I would say, in general, otoplasty is a very well tolerated surgery that has minimal downtime and an extremely high satisfaction rate. You should seek the advise of a plastic or facial plastic surgeon in your area that…
Neck lift and lower face lift 4.5 years ago and new sagging. What to do?
Revision facelift
Nov 13, 2019
Great question. Unfortunately, the aging process never stops. Even after a facelift. I think your best option would be to consult a facial plastic surgeon in your area and consider a revision lower facelift and neck lift to tighten your neck skin and address your marionette lines. Best of luck.
How can I improve my facial structure (specifically the chin and jaw line)?
Chin implant
Nov 13, 2019
Thanks for your question. There’s a few things to think about. One procedure that might be beneficial would be a chin implant to give your chin a bit more projection and jawline definition. However, that alone would not address the jawline definition that you’re lacking. This can be addressed with a procedure to remove excess fat under the chin/neck and tighten the neck muscles to give you a more sculpted jaw line. Both of these can be done at the same time through one small…
Subperiosteal mid face lift after cheek implant removal?
subperiosteal midface lift
Nov 12, 2019
This is a tough situation and difficult to give solid advice without pictures or an in-person examination but a subperiosteal mid face lift can be achieved endoscopically through scalp incisions done at the same time as an endoscopic forehead (eyebrow) lift. This can sometimes allow you to avoid the under eye incision although typically for my patients I still end up removing some under eye skin as this skin tends to bunch when the cheek is lifted. There does tend to be a change in…
What do I need done to reduce my facial asymmetry in my cheeks and eyelids?
Buccal fat removal
Nov 12, 2019
Thanks for your question! The first thing I’d say is that it’s important to understand that some degree of facial asymmetry is normal for everyone. Nobody’s face is truly a mirror image of either side. From your picture it seems that you may have some extra buccal (cheek) fat which can be removed through an incision inside the mouth with minimal recovery time. As for the eyelids, an in person exam would be very helpful but from your picture it doesn’t seem like you have what we would…
