Deep nasolabial fold on the right side. What’s the best treatment?
Fillers in the nasolabial fold
Jul 11, 2014
This question is difficult to answer without an evaluation. This type of problem may be addressed with filler in the nasolabial fold or cheek. In an evaluation, the injector can manipulate the area in different positions to see which type of treatment would be the best for your face type.
Should my skin still have dark spots two months after treatment with liquid nitrogen?
Dark Spots After Liquid Nitrogen
Jul 11, 2014
Unfortunately, some people can heal with dark marks or hyperpigmentation after liquid nitrogen. This type of reaction is impossible to predict. In almost all cases, these marks will fade over time. You can speed this process with the addition of a fade cream. For this type of discoloration retinol and hydroquinone (or a combination of the two) is a good choice.
Does epiduo fade left over redness from acne?
Epiduo and pigmentation
Jul 10, 2014
Great question! There is an ingredient in Epiduo called Adaptalene that helps if fading both red and dark marks. It is actually one of the few ingredients that does this effectively. With a medication like Epiduo, you should continue it even after your acne is clear to prevent new breakouts (which heal with new discolored areas) and as a bonus will help to even out pigmentation. Good luck!
What acne treatment would you recommend?
Acne treatment
Jul 10, 2014
There is really no substitute from looking at someone’s skin in person. However, from your picture it looks like you have a deeper (or cystic) component of your acne. Your skin also looks a little inflamed. I feel initially you might benefit from a sulfur or sodium sulfacetamide based cream in combination with an oral antibiotic. My recommendation is that you see a Dermatologist in your area for an evaluation. I don’t think your going to get away with just…
I want to stop furrowing my brows when I squint. Is Botox good for this?
Botox for treatment of furrowing
Jul 7, 2014
Great question! Botox is the best treatment for treatment of furrowing. It is actually facial muscles in the area which causes this effect. Botox weakens these muscles to soften and even eliminate this angry looking effect. I think you will be very pleased with this type of treatment. Good luck!
Can botox be used to open up the eyes when smiling?
Opening up the eyes with botox
Jul 7, 2014
Great question! The proper placement of Botox can open up the eye and this effect can last for 3-6 months per treatment.
I want to get rid of the wrinkles under my eyes; should I go for laser or botox?
Wrinkles under the eyes
Jul 7, 2014
Wrinkles on the outer part of the eye are usually caused by underlying muscles (crow’s feet). These are best treated by Botox. Wrinkles on the inner part of the eye are tougher to treat. They can be softened with the use of a retinoid cream nightly or injections of fillers (eg. Restylane) in the area. A consultation with a Dermatologist would be a good place to start to get the best treatment option for your situation.
