I have black round acne on my face with a deep pore in middle. It’s been like that for over a
possible cyst or comedone
Jan 23, 2016
Best to be examined by a dermatologist but it sounds like from the description that you either have a large plugged up pore like a comedone or possibly a cyst with an obvious opening. Sometimes if a follicle gets very plugged up, a person can’t even squeeze it out and therefore needs to use special instruments to extract it.
Can a facial mole (very small) be removed from the face without stitching involved?
Questionable removal
Jan 14, 2016
Typically, in order to ensure that a mole is completely removed from the face, a physician definitely needs to remove it by coring it out and closing the wound — no matter how small — with a suture. If the spot is 100% a mole, then you need to confirm that you’ve removed every cell because otherwise the mole could grow back. Some physicians laser moles, but that only removes the color from the mole, and if the mole later becomes cancerous, it becomes impossible to track without…
Treatments for severe acne scarring (hypertrophic) on face? concerned mainly about cheeks area
microneedling
Jan 14, 2016
It may take several sessions before you are able to decrease the scar. Additionally you may wish to consider fractional laser treatment with appropriate precautions taken to prevent post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. The photos are not terribly clear and it is always better to have an in person consultation.
Loss of hair due to use of finasteride for enlarged prostate. Need help
Losing hair after stopping finasteride
Jan 10, 2016
Finasteride, in the form of Propecia, is used to prevent male pattern baldness in men, and can actually also be used for women with thinning hair due to androgenetic alopecia. If you’ve stopped finasteride and your hair has started falling out, it likely is because now that finasteride is no longer in your system, there is nothing preventing your male pattern baldness and your hair is doing what it would have done naturally. Options could include restarting finasteride or…
Can a dermatologist tell with certainty (can he be 100% sure) if a mole is healthy or not, just by
Biopsying moles to examine under a microscope
Dec 5, 2015
The only 100% sure way of confirming that a mole is benign is by biopsying it and examining it under the microscope. My policy is that I always biopsy a mole if a patient feels that it is problematic, because the patient knows their skin and their moles best.
