Can lip filler be moved in the lip afterwards?
Moving Lip Fillers into Lip Afterward
Oct 16, 2018
Oct 16, 2018
Hyaluronic acid (HA) based fillers are moveable in the lip after injection, especially within the first 48 hours after treatment. Over the course of 1-2 weeks the HA fillers absorb water and are less moldable. Best, Dr. Krathen
Can isotretinoin cause life altering side effects like IBS and severe lower legs pain?
Isotretinoin and the treatment of Acne
Oct 16, 2018
Oct 16, 2018
Isotretinoin is an amazingly powerful medication for the treatment of acne. That said, there are potentially serious side effects of taking isotretinoin. Anyone considering treatment with isotretinoin should have an in-person consultation with their iPledge-approved medical provider (iPledge is the FDA-mandated registration system for isotretinoin in the US). Although there were initial concerns and preliminary reports regarding the association of isotretinoin exposure and inflammatory bowel…
What is the best treatment for my scalp acne?
Treatment for Scalp Acne
Oct 16, 2018
Oct 16, 2018
True acne is not common on the scalp. You should see a board certified dermatologist to get an expert consultation and get a proper diagnosis. Acne-like conditions can occur on the scalp, and these can be challenging to differentiate from acne vulgaris. Best, Dr. Krathen
How long will it take Juvederm under my eyes to dissolve after poor result?
Dissolving Juvederm
Oct 16, 2018
Oct 16, 2018
Hyaluronidase treatment (the antidote to hyaluronic acid gel injections gone wrong) will dissolve Juvederm within minutes of treatment. Without hyaluronidase treatment (to dissolve the Juvederm), hyaluronic acid / Juvederm can reside for many months in (and underneath) the skin before the body digests and breaks down the injected product. Juvederm and other injected hyaluronic acid gels break down faster in areas with more movement (around the mouth) and depending on the type of filler (some…
Is it normal to have pimples after a chemical peel?
Chemical Peel and Pimples
Oct 16, 2018
Oct 16, 2018
Sometimes after a chemical peel you can experience inflammation around the hair follicle. Depending on the depth of the chemical peel, and other factors, other considerations one would need to think about after a peel is the possible development of a yeast infection or even bacterial / viral follicular inflammation. If the “pimples” are getting worse and/or tender/painful, then you should undergo a medical evaluation. Good luck! Best Dr. Krathen
Telogen Effluvium and Minoxidil, how long does shedding usually last?
Hair Loss Treatment
Oct 16, 2018
Oct 16, 2018
Starting minoxidil therapy (in any type of hair loss condition) can lead to a month or two of increased shedding. Telogen effluvium usually lasts 6-12 months and the use of Minoxidil may shorten the time until resolution.
What would be the best treatment to revise a circle indent scar on my nose without incising or usin
post-procedural scar
Sep 25, 2018
Sep 25, 2018
I agree with the other contributors that a blend of subcision, filler, resurfacing laser, and/or incisional therapy may be optimal for treatment of a post-surgical scar. When you do get evaluated, keep in mind that sometimes it is most straightforward to excise a small scar with a punch tool. This will replace the existing depressed focal scar with a small linear (and not depressed) scar; in most cases this will blend in much better and requires a limited number of…
