Can Kybella be used to remove jowls?
Kybella in jowls?
Mar 18, 2016
Hello.  In the early clinical trials with Kybella, some doctors tried to sneak up to the jowl area to see if it would help - unfortunately, this caused a temporary nerve palsy in some patients.  That area should be avoided.  I would recommend talking to a board-certified plastic surgeon/facial plastic surgeon to see how this problem can be corrected surgically.
Does flushing in between Vbeam treatments jeopardize results and healing time?
Vbeam laser and flushing
Feb 5, 2016
Hello. The Vbeam pulse dye laser is the gold-standard for the treatment of small vessels on the face (called angioma or telangiectasia).Flushing is different than just vessels - it's caused by instability of the blood vessels' ability to open and close. Some people get this for no reason, or it could be related to hormones, temperature, emotional state, foods, etc. While Vbeam treatments may help remove some of the superficial vessels - improving flushing - it's unlikely to treat...

Botox and eye pain
Feb 4, 2016
Hello. It is highly unlikely that Botox caused your eye pain. I suggest that you speak with your injector and consider speaking with an eye doctor.

Dr. Knight answers question about Kybella and swelling
Feb 4, 2016
Hello. It is expected for patients to have a considerable amount of swelling and even nodules for several weeks after injection. Your injector should have explained this in advance of your treatment. There is also often numbness of the treatment area. The swelling and nodules gradually abate over 6-8 weeks, just in time for your second injection. Everyone gets at least 2 sessions and some people get more.In the clinical trials with Kybella, the number of people...
I want to get Voluma injections. Will cause a psoriasis flare up?
psoriasis and Voluma
Jan 18, 2016
Hi and thanks. I can't think of a reason why Voluma injections would cause a flare up of psoriasis - of course, no one can guarantee you this. I've injected HA filler in hundreds of people with psoriasis and no one has ever complained of a flare aftwerwards. Good luck.
Have Voluma injections been linked to unexplained hair loss?
Dr. Knight answers question about Voluma and hair loss
Jan 17, 2016
Hi and thanks. It's extremely unlikely that your filler procedure caused your hair loss (we call this alopecia). The diagnosis and work-up of hair loss is rather complicated and there are several disorders (beyond thyroid problems, etc) that can be associated with hair loss. I suggest that you see a board-certified general dermatologist in your area who can asses your problem; in some cases blood work or a scalp biopsy can add additional information as well.
I have bruising next to my eye after botox injections. Can it harm or damage my eyes?
Dr. Knight answers question about Botox and eye bruising/shrinking
Jan 17, 2016
Hi and thanks. It is extremely unlikely that bruising after your Botox procedure has anything to do with what you perceive today ("right eye shrinking"). It might be impactful to go back to the original injector and take a look at your "before" pictures. Alternatively, you might seek the opinion of an oculoplastic surgeon. Thanks
