The biggest challenge is straightening and keeping the middle 1/3 of these straight along with transitioning well into the bony upper 1/3rd of the nose. Typically removing the hump, followed by taking the septum apart and removing the crooked portion, followed by using the cartilage from the septum to build up and straighten the middle 1/3 as spreader grafts and then addressing the tip is required.

If you have a deviated nasal septum then this needs to be addressed to improve your breathing this often times helps slightly with the appearance by straightening the nose. If both the cosmetic and functional aspects are addressed in conjunction this is called septorhinoplasty. You do have a hump on the nose that should be improved. A nice straight dorsum that gives you a natural appearance and keeps the facial aesthetics in line is important. It is not uncommon that one side of the profile is different then the other, we see this daily during consultations. When using a digital imaging computer you see this on a frontal view to a larger extreme when you place both left or both right sides of the face together. As a Facial Plastic Surgeon this is what we deal with. Asymmetry is a common complaint and through surgery we bring symmetry to the face. Your rhinoplasty will not be complicated but multifaceted addressing different areas of your nose. First, your deviated septum will be fixed through a septa-rhinoplasty. Second, your nasal bump could be removed and your bridge would be straightened most likely through an osteotomy. Third, a de-projection of your nasa tip is necessary to bring the modifications together and to have your nose be as natural as possible and better fit your face.

All in all, it is important that a natural look be preserved through the rhinoplasty bringing the best of your facial features. It is common that nasal asymmetries be exhibited differently comparing profile photos of a given patient; this is why an in-person evaluation is crucial to discuss and have the best fit surgical plan for you. That being said, please remember that commendable results require an exceptionally skilled surgeon to perform the surgery and settling for anything less than that increases the chances of additional corrective surgeries dramatically.
