Dr. Wright received her medical degree from West Virginia University School of Medicine in 2002, then matched with her number one general surgery residency choice—Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans—a program based at Charity Hospital, one of the best facilities in the country for critical care and trauma. After completing her residency, Dr. Wright became a trauma surgeon at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge.
