Is it possible to get Asian double eyelid revision on one of my eyes?
Double Eyelid surgery revision
Dec 21, 2018
Yes it is possible to get a revision. It is best if you wait a few months from the fist surgery and you have to go to someone who has plenty of experience with the Asian eyes and especially experience with revision eye surgeries. Please check my website for more information. Kun Kim, MD. Atlanta, GA
I’m Thai and currently 21 year-old. I had a ptosis on my right eye.
Eyelid Ptosis
Aug 9, 2015
It appears your right levator (muscle that lift the eye lid) muscle have become dehiscent (separated) from your tarsal plate (this is a cartilage-muscle plate at the inferior edge of the eyelid). Having performed thousands of Asian eye lid surgeries, I have had opportunity to correct many of these. You need to visit an oculoplastic surgeon who has performed many Asian eyelid surgeries or someone in plastic surgery who is very familiar with eyelid anatomy–not everyone is…
1wk after septoplasty- Do I have saddle nose deformity? If so, is this likely to improve by healing or w
Saddle Nose Deformity? No.
Aug 9, 2015
It appears that your cartilagenous dorsum was aggressively reduced and that is what is causing that saddle nose appearance. This deformity unfortunately will not improve over time…if anything may get worse. It is not a difficult fix, however. Since your PS already did your septoplasty, he will have to use your ear cartilage to do an onlay graft over that area that has the saddle nose look.
Is rib grafting a new technique in Rhinoplasty?
Rib Grafting is Not New for Ethnic Rhinoplasty
Aug 9, 2015
Rib grafting has been around for many decades. When I was in residency in the 1980’s, we were doing it. I never had to do it again, however, in the last 25 years since my residency. There are other materials that you can use with much simplicity and with very good risk-reward ratio. Silicone, Gortex comes to mind. I almost always get some septal cartilage from inside your nose as well in order to work on nasal tip area. If septal cartilage is deficient,…
Cheek fat removal: Should I get it now or later?
Buccal fat removal is a mistake.
Jun 1, 2015
You always want to think twice about getting your buccal fat removed. I know when you are young, you want to have thinner cheeks, but as you get older, you will always regret getting them removed. One of the signs of getting older is thinning of fat pads from various areas of the body, as well as from face. One of my most popular procedure is autologous fat transfer for exact areas where people remove their buccal fat from (although slightly different).
What can be done to correct indent under cheek after facelift? It looks hollow.
Need Autologous Fat Injection
Jun 1, 2015
If it has been 4 months since the operation and you still have the indentation on your cheeks, it is not likely to recover any better. My guess is that there was an overly aggressive cheek liposuction and it probably needs to be injected with fat grafted from your own body.
Would I be too young for a rhinoplasty?
Probably Too Young for a Rhinoplasty
Jun 1, 2015
In my opinion, 14 years old is too young for a cosmetic rhinoplasty. Unless there is a compelling reason (trauma, deformity), it will be very difficult to talk me into doing a rhinoplasty on someone under 17 years old. At 14-16, girls face may have fully developed to undergo a rhinoplasty without the concern for long term changes. However, more concerning factor for me, is the emotional readiness of a 14 year old. For a person that young who is seeking a cosmetic…
Is it possible to inject fat from one person to another? Kind of like a liposuction transplant?
Fat transfer from one person to another
Nov 6, 2013
Simple answer: NO.The reason is very simple, actually. Just like blood cannot be used from person to person without proper screening and typing (tissue rejection, immune response, disease transfer), fat cannot be used from person to person. It would not be worth the cost even if anyone go through the trouble of cross typing and screening.
Plastic surgeon or oculoplastic for blepharoplasty revision?
Plastic Surgeon or Oculoplastic surgeon?
Nov 6, 2013
I am a Facial Plastic Surgeon by training and therefore, my answer is probably biased toward to my specialty rather than to a general Plastic Surgeon or a Oculoplastic surgeon. A facial plastic surgeon is someone who has an Otolaryngology or a general plastic surgery board certification who chooses to undergo additional training and certification process to become board certified in “Facial Plastic Surgery” This information does not answer your specific question, I know. What I will tell…
Is It Safe to Get a Silicon Nose Job After First One Got Infected?
Asian Rhinoplasty and Silicone
Aug 22, 2011
I believe the most common reason for "infection" and extrusion of the silicone implant following the rhinoplasty is an improper sizing of the original implant the the pressure points where the implant may exert pressure. The improper amount of pressure (tip, especially; with L shaped…at the base of columella) will over time, extrude.

I don't hesitate to use silicone again following the original implant removal. With proper use of cartilage to shield the…

Fractured Nasal Bone- How Long to Heal?
Nasal Fracture healing time
Aug 18, 2011
Nasal fracture is unlike any other bone fracture in your body. Bony fractures in your limbs, for example, require immobilization and or fixation for 4-8 weeks to heal properly. Nasal fracures on the other hand….can be left alone in its fractured state and it will heal just fine. This is because nasal bones are not being moved and pulled by surrounding muscles. Therefore, the closed or open reduction of the nasal fracture is ONLY performed if there is cosmetic or…
Is This My Final Result 8 Weeks Post-Op?
Rhinoplasty healing
Aug 18, 2011
At 2 months post op, I will say that you probably have 98% of the result you are going to have. Swelling is there some at this point and this will gradually go away over next 12 months but basically, what you have at this point is 98% of what you are going to have 1 or 10 years later.

Revision rhinoplasty, if contemplated, should be performed 1 – 2 years later when complete healing has taken place.

Can my Wide, Bulbous Nose Be Reduced in Size?
Bulbous nose tip reshaping
Aug 17, 2011
Yes, of course! This is one of the most basic maneuvers in rhinoplasty. Tip bulbousity or wide and mal formed nasal tip is very common problem and this should be a basic technique that should be available to any rhinoplasty surgeon. Having said that, obviously the next question is how much should it be narrowed and will I look natural in my new nose. This is where experience and esthetic eye of the surgeon comes in. I always say that the best rhinoplasty results…
Options for enlargement of Asian eyes?
Double eyelid surgery to make eyes bigger
Dec 15, 2009
Double eyelid surgery combined with medial epicanthoplasty will make your eyes bigger. When double eyelid surgery is properly done, eyes look bigger when opened.  With medial epicanthoplasty (treating the Mongolian fold), eyes actually get wider.
Will I be able to close my eyes after eyelid surgery?
Eyelids remaining open after eyelid surgery a common concern
Dec 5, 2009
This is a common fear.
Not being able to close your eyes after an eye lid surgery is a complication that arise from an overly aggressive skin removal. In a typical upper eye lid surgery for anti aging, the amount of skin removal is estimated by the surgeon. After the incision lines are drawn, the amount of skin removal need to be rechecked in order to ensure the skin being removed is not too much.
If you choose an experienced surgeon, this complication should be almost a non-issue.
