Fixing a broken nose
Jul 12, 2015
The procedure that you likely need is a septorhinoplasty, which is surgically fixing the internal and external aspects of the nose. The parts of the surgery that improve your breathing will likely be covered by insurance, and your insurance company will likely make that known prior to any procedure. They will probably need medical records and a letter from your surgeon explaining exactly what is going on.I would recommend seeing an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon who can appropriately assess…

Droopy eyelid after Botox
Jul 12, 2015
If the iopidine drops aren’t helping, unfortunately nothing else likely will, except time.No Botox effects are permanent, and fortunately the negative effects don’t tend to last long.I’m sorry this happened to you, but know that everything will go back to normal in time. All the best.
Lumps in upper lip. Help! Will this go away?
Lumpy lips
Jul 12, 2015
So the lumps in your lips may be from the filler, or they could simply persistent but swelling from the injection. Some gentle massage of the lips and warm compresses may help resolve persistent swelling, and the bumps might improve on their own over the next week or so, especially if they are simply swelling. However, I would recommend letting your injector know what is happening, as they will likely want to see you in person to fully evaluate you. If the bumps do persist for more than…
Would eyelid surgery help?
Droopy eyelids
Jul 12, 2015
From the photo you provided, it is possible that you have eyelid ptosis — which is when the upper eyelid hangs down a bit lower over the eye than it should. Depending on the reason for this drooping of the eyelids, surgery may be an option for you. I would recommend seeing an experienced oculoplastic surgeon who can perform a full medical and physical exam for you and discuss the best options. All the best!

Profile improvement
Jul 12, 2015
From the photos you provided, I think an aesthetic nasal surgery (rhinoplasty) would make the biggest difference in improving your profile. I recommend seeing an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon who will likely recommend removing some of your nasal hump and adjusting the tip of your nose. All the best!

Deep lines under eyes
Jul 9, 2015
A quick fix for deep lines under the eyes is filler. Typically a hyaluronic acid filler, like restylane, can be used to improve this area, and results last for around a year (sometimes even longer). However, if you have chronic allergies or sinus/nasal issues, these medical problems may be contributing somewhat to your appearance. Your primary doctor should be able to help you with these issues. All the best!
When can I start wearing makeup after blepharoplasty (double eyelid surgery)?
Makeup after blepharoplasty
Jul 9, 2015
Sutures typically are removed at about 1 week after surgery, and most surgeons will generally allow makeup after that, as long as you are healing well. Be sure to check with your surgeon, however. All the best!

Eyelids after surgery
May 18, 2015
It’s difficult for me to answer your question without seeing photos, but I can say that swelling from eyelid surgery (particularly lower eyelid surgery) may last longer than 2 weeks. So I think you will continue to see changes to your eyelid and upper cheek appearance as you continue to heal. Hopefully these healing changes will look favorable to you over time. All the best.

Crooked Nose
May 18, 2015
The nose is made up of bone and cartilage, and injury to the nose can displace these structures and lead to an altered appearance. Though the body will heal, lumps/dips/crookedness/etc may persist, and could actually become more noticeable over time.I think it is very unlikely that your nose will go back to normal, and I would recommend seeing an experienced ENT or facial plastic surgeon. Surgery (rhinoplasty) will likely be necessary to get your nose back to where it was before the injury…
What can I do with lines around the sides of my nose? Fillers or Botox?
Nasolabial lines
May 18, 2015
Fillers work great in this area. I typically recommend hyaluronic acid fillers since they can be dissolved if you don’t like your results. These fillers can be placed directly adjacent to the lines, thus softening their appearance. In addition, fillers can also be placed deep in the cheeks, thus revolumizing face, and subsequently lessening those lines as well. I think you will get excellent results with fillers placed by an experienced injector. All the best!

Botox and burning
May 18, 2015
It’s most likely that the injection/needle was close to a sensory nerve, thus causing you to have that strange sensation. If any minor nerve injury occurred, it will certainly heal over time and go back to normal. All the best
Is Rhinoplasty covered by health insurance?
Rhinoplasty and insurance
Mar 10, 2015
Nasal surgery that improves breathing, such as a septoplasty, is generally covered by medical insurance. And if your nose has been misshapen by an accident or trauma, surgery to fix the nose can be covered. However, a purely cosmetic bump/hump on the nose that is not the result of trauma or injury and that is not affecting breathing, is generally not covered by insurance companies.Kind regards.
Is it common to have bruise patches all over the nose and upper cheek after a Juvederm injection?
Extensive bruising after juvederm
Mar 10, 2015
While bruising can certainly occur after juvederm injection anywhere in the face, the extensive bruising you describe, especially in areas that were not injected, is concerning. A blood vessel that supplies those bruised areas could have been affected by the filler injection, and I would strongly advise you to contact or visit your injector as soon as possible to be fully evaluated. If blood supply to those bruised areas of your face has been compromised by filler, the filler can be…
What Moisturizer to use after stitches are removed from upper eyelid surgery?
Moisturizer after blepharoplasty
Feb 25, 2015
I would certainly check with your surgeon to see if they recommend anything specific.Commonly used moisturizers that are over the counter and helpful to prevent excessive dryness and crusting after the sutures are out are Vaseline and aquaphor. Both are generally well tolerated, inexpensive, and very unlikely to cause a negative reaction.Silica based gels can be used after surgery to aid wound healing/minimize scarring, but I would certainly get your surgeon’s opinion before applying any…
4 month after dissolving Juvederm I still look browsed. What can I do to correct this?
Dark areas under eyes after juvederm
Feb 25, 2015
So it’s difficult for me to know exactly what’s going on just from the photos, but it does seem that things have certainly improved since the filler was dissolved (ie. the bluish hue seems to have resolved).Any persistent darkening can likely be improved with topical bleaching agents (hydroquinone) and lasers. Nonablative fractionated lasers such as the Clear and Brilliant or the fraxel dual 1927nm laser may be options for you. If some of the darkening is due to small blood vessels, the…
