Neck contour distortion. Is this normal? Will it smooth out in time?
Recovery from Neck Lift
Jun 9, 2017
Hi and thanks for the question! Depending on the technique, recovery from neck lift can be extensive. Tightness and stiffness can persist for up to 6 months. If you are still concerned about your appearance, I encourage you to speak to your surgeon about your outcome, or seek a 2nd opinion. Hang in there, and Happy Healing!
11 days post op. Turbinates surgery and tip rhinoplasty, still really congested. Does it go away here
Time and patience!
Jun 7, 2017
Hi and thanks for the question! Yes, you still have a ways to go. Swelling and bruising after rhinoplasty is very common, and the recovery time varies from patient to patient as well as technique to technique. If undergoing open rhinoplasty it may be up to 12 months before the swelling subsides. Most of the major swelling is gone by about 6 weeks, but it takes time none the less. Remember, a happy healer is a healthy healer!
What type of rhinoplasty would be best for me? Surgical Or non-surgical?
Taking everything into consideration.
Mar 6, 2017
Hi & thanks for the question,
The best way to address your nose and its relationship to your face, would be for an one on one consultation. From your pictures and the comments you enclosed, I think that addressing the septum and your columella would require surgery. Again, the relationship of your nose with your chin and forehead would also help guide where augmentation would be helpful versus reduction. Your nasal tip could easily be better defined if this is…
Chin implant for round face/
Safety, and reversibility are most important.
Jan 23, 2017
Good question. When it comes to any implantable substance, you want the least reactive (or most inert) substance available. There are many vendors of silicone implants for the face and body that are incredibly safe, and most importantly, completely reversible products of every size imaginable. Most surgeons do not use these implants for chin augmentation.
I’d like to know what my options are for my receding chin
Balance is the key…
Jan 23, 2017
The answer does depend on a few details regarding your teeth. If your teeth line up with “normal” occlusion, then you could likely benefit from a chin augmentation. It is challenging to determine this with the photos you provided. It could help restore facial harmony between your nose, brow, and chin. If your teeth are not in “normal” occlusion, you may find benefit from orthognathic surgery, typically done by an Oral Surgeon. You have many options, but your…
I need help deciding on the appropriate surgical procedure to enhance my weak chin and jawline.
It’s all about Balance…
Jan 23, 2017
Thanks for the question. If your teeth line up with “normal” occlusion like you mentioned, then you could likely benefit from a chin augmentation, although it is tough to determine what exactly is the relationship between your nose and chin from these photos. It could help restore facial harmony between your nose, brow, and chin. A cosmetic consultation could be beneficial in your situation.

I had excessive scar tissue from chin implant.
Post Operative Challenges
Jan 23, 2017
This is a real tough problem, and I feel for you on this. If there is damage to the nerves surrounding the tissue where the implant placed it can take time (>6 months) for your body to heal. Steroid injection in the form of Kenalog may help as well as directed massage therapy. Given your specific issues, I would talk to your surgeon about ways to help alleviate your symptoms and get you back on track.
Undoing upper and lateral osteotomies — Difficult Breathing
Grafting
Jan 22, 2017
Grafting in revision rhinoplasty can have both a functional and aesthetic roles. As suggested, spreader grafts slightly widen the nose and correct the so called “inverted V” deformity. There are hundreds of grafting techniques that could be useful for your situation. I suggest a thourogh cosmetic consultation as well as nasal endoscopy to evaluate both form and function.
Do I have a weak chin?
Facial harmony
Jan 17, 2017
The answer, like all of aesthetic surgery, is completely subjective. If the projection of your chin bothers you, then it is an issue. If your teeth line up with “normal” occlusion, then you could likely benefit from a chin augmentation. It would help restore facial harmony between your nose, brow, and chin. If your teeth are not in “normal” occlusion, you may find benefit from orthognathic surgery, typically done by an Oral Surgeon. In regards to jargon; I think…
Why is my face so unaesthetic?
Healthy Healing
Jan 17, 2017
Thanks for the question,
Looking at both pre operative and post operative photographs, I agree that this will improve with reduction in both swelling and edema aka “time”. Post operative recovery can be a tough time where the patient is looking through photos, second guessing decisions, and getting frankly “out of their heads”. I encourage you to relax, recover, and let your body heal. After you recover fully, then it is time for a better assessment of what bothers…
What would be the best treatment for my lower eyelids?
Multifacet Approach
Jan 17, 2017
Hi, Thanks for the question. Lower lid rejuvenation can be challenging as not every patient should get the same treatment. Some patients do not require surgery at all and would benefit from fillers to camouflage and smooth out irregularities. Others may benefit from just removing a small amount of fat through an transconjunctival approach. Its all about what provides you the best outcome. I encourage you to seek a consultation with an experienced surgeon…
Endoscopic brow lift. Not achieving desired results with Botox.
Two different tools.
Dec 8, 2016
Recovery from endoscopic brow lift is pretty limited. The first week is the toughest, with there being some minor swelling and bruising. It varies from surgeon to surgeon after the first 24-48 we encourage our patients to use baby shampoo for the hair. Directly following surgery, we normally wash the hair in the operating room as well to reduce the crusting.
Botox on the frontalis muscle is useful for wrinkles (or rhytids) but if done over zealously will…

Facial Harmony
Dec 6, 2016
The answer does depend on a few details regarding your teeth. If your teeth line up with “normal” occlusion, then you could likely benefit from a chin augmentation. It would help restore facial harmony between your nose, brow, and chin. You may also find after this the slight submental fullness becomes less obvious. If your teeth are not in “normal” occlusion, you may find benefit from orthognathic surgery, typically done by an Oral Surgeon. I would not…
