Unfortunately PRP is not a permanent treatment that will “cure” hair loss. It can definitely improve early hair loss over time; however it is a treatment that needs to be continued at least at a maintenance level to sustain results. Usually after 4-6 treatments and you can start spacing out treatments to potentially a couple times a year. However patient results can vary and some patients may need maintenance treatments at shorter intervals than others.

Yes, PRP for hair loss really does work. However it is important to know it doesn’t work overnight. It takes time to improve hair follicle and density. I recommend at least 4-6 treatments at once a month to improve early hair loss.

I would say diffuse hair loss after PRP would be rare. Did you have any other changes in your lifestyle? Change in your diet or weight loss? Most of my patients report a decrease in hair shedding after PRP treatments.

Nasal trauma early in the post recovery phase after rhinoplasty can definitely affect your outcome. I realize it must be difficult to predict when your 2 year old is going to hit your face but if you can minimize as much trauma to your face as possible in this period that would be ideal. I would discuss your concerns with your surgeon. In general, nonsurgical rhinoplasty uses filler to make changes to the nose. This would include smoothing out a profile (making a nasal hump look less conspicuous) or making small changes to the nasal tip contour. Thank you for your question. Bumps after a neck lift can be common as the skin takes time to smooth out. If these are present 3 weeks after surgery it is unlikely its a surgical emergency (fluid/blood collection) that needs to be drained. However it is best to follow up with a plastic surgeon to evaluate your incisions and make sure you do not have a hematoma that needs to be addressed. Hope this helps!

Thank you for including photographs. It is a bit difficult to assess the skin without also feeling it and doing a clinical exam. It does seem it may be scar tissue or area of thickened skin. not a teleangiectasia. I do not think this is going to compromise your future revision. I would discuss this concern with your rhinoplasty surgeon. You can also do treatments for this area (chemical peels, laser) to improve it if you are concerned. Hope this helps!

You can definitely tape your nose after the nasal splint is removed. This will help reduce additional swelling after the nasal cast is off. However, I would recommend leaving on the tape throughout the day and night, this would give you maximal benefit. Thanks for your question. It’s hard to give you the best treatment advice without a picture to address your concerns. Botox around the eyes can do wonders for your crows feet and if you are developing them early, then doing botox treatments now may prevent future deep lines from forming. However it will not address the discoloration, which might be allergy or venous related. I recommend consultation with a facial plastic surgeon to evaluate your concerns.

Looking at this picture, I would recommend combinational therapy. I think a good combination of medical grade skin care (eye cream) and an under eye chemical peel may do the trick. If hallowing is a real issue, then a light hyaluronic acid based filler would work well to fill in your tear trough. I would recommend consulting with a facial plastic surgeon to evaluate your concerns. Hope this helps!

In my opinion the best under eye fillers are hyaluronic acid based. I would caution you against doing a treatment with anyone who wants to put a permanent or non-dissolvable filler in this area. As mentioned, if you experience a lump or prolonged edema you can reverse the filler with another injection. Now that being said, I think the optimal HA fillers for the under eye area are Belotero and Restylane. Hope this helps!

The recommended time to wait after rhinoplasty is at least 1 year. It sounds like you’ve waited almost 2 years and you’re likely ready. Sometimes after 2nd or 3rd time revisions I recommend waiting a bit longer than a year to allow for additional swelling to go down but 2 years is long enough. Hope this helps.

A buttonhole in rhinoplasty is when a hole in the skin is made during dissection that is apparent on the outside of your nose. This often occurs during revision cases when there is a lot of scarring and the skin is tethered to the structures (scar tissue, cartilage) underneath it. Thanks for your question. It is difficult without seeing closer frontal views of your face to see if you would need both under eye and cheek filler to make the most significant improvement. If you do not want cheek filler, you can always start with a filler in the tear trough and see how much improvement you get. If this is not optimal, adding a cheek filler may help the transition zone from your under eye to your cheek be smoother. Hope this helps!

Thanks for your question. Your breathing usually significantly improves after your nasal splints are removed 7 days after surgery. You can have intermittent swelling afterwards that you make breathing on some days worse but overall it should be better than before surgery. Hope this helps.
