Thermi is a great way to tighten the skin and the underlying tissue. I have had this device for some time now and it does a great job for refining and tightening. The nice thing about the machine is that we can control the temperature of the probe to allow for skin tightening, but we can also alter the temperature to address the underlying fat.
8 days post op Thermitight under my chin. Should I still have this amount of swelling?

Yes, it is possible. I have seen swelling last from a day or two to about 10 days. Heat can certainly help but just give it time and it will resolve.

Sometimes the nerves around the area that has been treated can be bruised from the treatment. This can cause the issues you have mentioned. While this is not common, it will take some time for the nerve to function properly. Please see your physician if you have any specific questions.

I understand the concern with persistent swelling after a Thermi procedure. Depending on the physician and how much was done, I have seen swelling last upwards of 10 days. Sometimes, I will occasionally place patients on a short course of steroids to help. But, if you still have concerns, I recommend touching base with the physician who performed your procedure. He/She may want to take a look to ensure you are healing properly.

I am in agreement with what other physicians have recommended. I would proceed with the jaw surgery first then determine what else needs to be done if necessary. ThermiTight can also be used to address excess fat so it may be an option. I am personally not a fan of buccal fat pad removal as you will need this fullness in that area as you age.

ThermiTight is a minimally invasive procedure that involves placing a probe underneath the skin to heat up the underlying tissue. This does require making a very small incision to insert the probe. My preference would be to stop the medication if your primary physician is comfortable with this, otherwise, you may expect more bruising during the recovery. So even while on blood thinners you are still a candidate for the procedure, you just may have more bruising while healing.

Congratulations on having your treatment.In my experience, the amount of swelling and discomfort can vary. On average, I see about 3-4 days of swelling but it can be as short as none or as long as a week. The pain factor is quite minimal as well.

I am quite experienced with the ThermiTight procedure although I am not familiar with the EndyMed Pro machine. The nice thing about the ThermiTight procedure is that it delivers the heat energy exactly where it needs to go. The Thermi machine is very versatile and I have been using it extensively in my practice. One of the things I love about the machine is that it can be used in small localized areas like around the eye or even larger ones such as the neck and jowl region. In your case, pictures would be helpful as we have to differentiate herniation of the fat that surrounds the eye vs. malar bags or festoons.

Usually, the ThermiTight procedure requires one treatment which can be done in the office under local anesthesia. However, this may vary depending on the amount of skin laxity, fat, drooping, etc. I also usually combine my ThermiTight with the ThermiSmooth procedure for added results.It takes a good 3-6 months to see the final results and a repeat procedure (if desired) can be performed for added results.
