Please be patient in your healing process as it can take up to 12 months (or longer) for the nose to fully heal after your procedure. 7 months is a bit too soon to begin looking into revision rhinoplasty options. Thank you for your inquiry! When evaluating the proportionality of the face, we look at how the upper third, middle third, and lower third relate to one other. The middle third of your face has a modest prevalence, in comparison to the upper and lower thirds, with a slightly lower nasal start. From the photos provided, you have a well-balanced face and good structure overall.

Presented pictures are the intraoperative views. Usually, the nose is much more upturned, rotated, and looks shorter. Over period of the months it undergoes changes, primarily gravity driven, tip derotates and comes down. I would wait for the full 12 months after surgery to assess the result.

I think Lupus is not an absolute contraindication for nasal surgery, especially if its not in flair up/controlled. It has been done. Although, there is a risk. Surgery may push you in flair up of the systemic process and also sometimes people with active lupus start loosing intra-nasal cartilage, which may change the structure and appearance. I do not think there is a reliable way to predict it.

Hi, from the single view it seems that your consulting physician is correct. It appears that you may have an internal curvature of the low lateral cartilages, which obstruct nasal passages. Not correcting this anatomic variant you may have a residual airway obstruction. There are very specific ways to correct this situation. Vestibular stenosis repair is a code which can be utilized for insurance assistance. Good Luck.

Thank you for bravery to share your situation. I think your quest about improvement of the nasal appearance is reasonable. It appears that the nose is a touch too prominent for your face and the lower part of the nose is somewhat disproportional and bulky in respect to the upper, and tip is over-projected. Those elements can be improved and adjusted. If professional is not comfortable to perform it, it is in your best interest to discuss options with somebody else. Best of luck.

Thank you for your question. Reduction of the nasal width and projection can be accomplished, it can be done under straight local anesthesia or with use of sedation. The real long term concern in your situation is incremental displacement of osteotomized bones. It takes up to 6 to 8 weeks to get to 85-90% of the pre-surgical bone strength.
One of the compromises would be to avoid osteotomies, if it is possible. There are also commercially available silastic pads placed on the nose, but they are not sturdy enough to resist mask compression.

I think, refining of your nose is a very good decision, with accurate planning and precise execution, rhinoplasty will really enhance your face.

I would be very cautious taking a short cut approach to the nasal modifications. You may be disappointed. I would consider undergoing a comprehensive rhinoplasty and placing a nice balanced with the face nose. In most hands, you can return to the social activities about a week after surgery.
