Answer Snippet
Missing cartilage after rhinoplasty. Could this be fixed using fillers?
Not likely
Nov 24, 2016
It appears from your pictures that you probably have had overresection of the nasal dorsum and a resulting frontal view appearance as you have shown. Temporary fillers maybe able to help to some degree, but these are going to only be able to "tent" up the skin so much. At some point you may decide on a revision with augmentation of the dorsum with cartilage/fascia to restore a more balanced appearance.
Second blepharoplasty procedure. Will it get better with time?
I would go see your surgeon
Nov 24, 2016
Based on your picture and the fact you are 7 days post surgery I would recommend you go see your surgeon. Conservative taping and massage may help, but before doing this I would consult your surgeon. Good luck.
Revision rhinoplasty with Rib? Risks? Warping?
Rib Cartilage may or may not warp
Nov 24, 2016
Aesthetic preference is a personal decision. Based on your picture, it appears you've had a good result from a technical point of view but if you desire more bridge projection then a diced cartilage technique with fascia or fascia alone should be able to provide you additional augmentation with minimal risk of warping. There can be some issues with asymmetry, resorption, etc as with all cartilage grafting, but warping wouldn't be an issue. Since it does not appear you need a great deal of...
How can I fix my asymmetrical eyes?
Asymmetry is normal
Nov 24, 2016
Human beings by our nature are not symmetric. So subtle asymmetry from one side to the other is in fact part of being human. Obviously considerable asymmetry is not desirable and may or may not warrant potential improvement. Looking at your picture, personally I can't detect a great deal of asymmetry and thus I would say leave things alone. Next time you're with your friends or family carefully look at their face, eyes, nose etc and I bet you will see that all of them have asymmetry you...
The sides of my nose deflate and inflate when I breathe in and out. Is this common post rhinoplasty?
It may be normal
Nov 24, 2016
To some extent all of our noses have usually mild inward movement on increased inspiration. Essentially if you breathe hard enough you will always be able to collapse the nose. Some patients have increased problems with this and can lead to problems breathing in particular when breathing more vigorously such as with exercise of during sleep. With some of the techniques in rhinoplasty particularly cosmetic ones, this can sometimes weaken the sidewall of the nose and cause potentially...
What to eat after scar revision for upper lip?
stick to a softer diet
Jul 19, 2015
The less your lip moves the better the chance of a better result. A softer diet would be advisable for the first week.
How can I get rid of hyperpigmentation left by a year old curling iron related burn on the arm?
Over time it may continue to improve
May 17, 2015
Over a longer period of time there is the possibility that the hyper pigmentation will continue to fade. Using sunscreen to prevent excessive sun exposure is critical, it is possible that bleaching agents such as hydroquinone may help. Another possibility would be laser treatment.
Is it possible for the skin graft on my hand to be improved in appearance?
Laser treatment might help
May 17, 2015
I frequently used laser resurfacing in an attempt to make skin grafts appear more seamless with the surrounding skin. It is not an easy thing to accomplish and sometimes there is a limitation to how close a color match you can achieve, but it probably can be improved.
Which surgery should I do first, eye lids or facelift?
It depends on what you want
May 10, 2015
I would say that depending on your degree of aging and what bothers you more is what you should go for. Or wait some time and do both together and just recover once instead of twice.
100% blocked nostrils 10 days after rhinoplasty and turbinate reduction. What can I do to alleviate this
I would go see your doctor
May 10, 2015
I would go see your surgeon to make sure that everything is healing appropriately. It may just be post-operative swelling or it could potentially be something more significant. You should have an exam by your surgeon. Good luck.
Do you think my uneven smile lines are so noticeable that it would make since to get surgery?
I wouldn't do anything
May 10, 2015
I think the asymmetry you notice is within the normal realm of human expression. None of us are perfect.
Why are there so many botched rhinoplasties?
I think it depends on your definition of botched
May 10, 2015
Rhinoplasty is an extremely difficult and demanding surgery, anyone who performs a lot of them particularly revision surgery will tell you this. When you add on top of this everyone's different tendencies in terms of wound healing it adds another layer of complexity to the surgery. Expectation of constitutes a "good" result is probably the most important factor in determining if something is truly "botched". Realizing that minor asymmetries and imperfections are what make us human and cannot...
What does a plastic surgeon suggest I do about my quickly aging face?
I would tell you you're too hard on yourself
May 10, 2015
All of us can find things about ourselves that we might want to improve upon, that's human nature, but judging from your photos and not really being able to see the quality of your skin I think you look fine. You do have some early hollowing underneath the eyes that can be improved by fillers, pitted scarring in the skin can be improved by fractionated laser resurfacing, but I would stick with very conservative limited treatments.
Could vitamin E oil be used to avoid scarring?
I wouldn't use Vitamin E
May 10, 2015
Vitamin E can reduce the tensile strength of scars and so in the early healing phase I would not use it. I would use plain regular Aquaphor until the wound has completely healed. After 1-2 weeks, you can apply silicone gel at night and sunscreen during the day. Scar maturation takes a year.
Hyaluronidase injection right away to dissolve the excess bulk above the upper lip and lower cheeks? (ph
I would wait
May 2, 2015
You probably just have swelling, the filler cannot migrate that far, considering the amount of bruising you have, most likely your concern is just swelling.
